Fox Sports in the US had a 30-minute feature on the 06/07 derby between BVB and Schalke, where a Dortmund win took the title out of Schalke's hands.  Interesting feature.  Got me looking through some of the other title races in Bundesliga history.

Shows how far Dortmund have come in the last 12 years. That game back then was very much 'their cup final'. BVB where a team struggling, very down on their luck, they had no money, and no hope basically!  So winning that game vs Schalke in that circumstance was massive for them.

Frankfurt look very low on confidence. Not even trying to pressure BMG when they haven’t got the ball.

What’s the story over Frankfurt having to sell their front three, are they in financial difficulties?

dont think they are in trouble, they had been turning profits in the previous couple seasons, they seem a well run club, although like is now even more apparent very much counting on media money of course!

They sold players who wanted to leave and who had release clauses.  Not replaced them well as yet, hence the trouble they are in!

Quite enjoyed this to be honest. We were so deprived of football but basically I do enjoy their technical side and keeping their ball on the floor which sides like Utd couldn’t even do.

The old story then, selling is easy replacing not so straight forward. I have to say they don’t see very motivated either.

BMG on the other hand love attacking with the ball, playing some lovely stuff. Would love to see them challenging Dortmund and Bayern to the end of the season.

yeah Gladbach really do play nice stuff.  They are a good team, some nice players and a very good coach. Love Ramy Bensebaini who plays left back / wing back for them. Fun player.

Absolutely.  I think Dede in the feature kept talking about how that win was like winning a trophy for them.  Very much that cup final mentality just to deny Schalke the title.

How things have changed since!

Could have been 3 as well for Gladbach, dominant! Alessane Plea the man of the half.

Frankfurt in all sort of trouble, no confidence and no fight as yet.

Gladbach playing some nice stuff, love it.

Pretty disappointed in BT really, no need for co-comms here, especially when they’ve absolute no knowledge on the league, like McManaman and Keown. Given the amount of people in the game currently out of work, they could surely have found a couple that know what they’re talking about from their own home.

I was dissapointed with that goal show they put together. Would it hurt to show game footage while their wasn't any goals to show? They just showed the league table and then cut to it when a goal went in.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Not sure how they do it with BT, but here with FOX Sport, even though they have (or had) their own crew of studio people, they use the 'world feed' for the commentary of a lot of games, so freelancers. But a few of those guys aren't able to do these games are they are not in Germany, and can't travel. That may affect the choice of who they use, but as I say, not sure how BT do it - if they have their own people.

But yeah, no need to use pundits who don't know the league, it's insulting as well as annoying to listen too.

Keown and Macca have never commed a Bundesliga match in their life before this.  ;D Macca would've done Bayern matches in the Champions League though.
