I've enjoyed them all season and have been cheering them on since we became irrelevant to the chase for fourth. Made great purchases over the last year. It will be a huge ask if they do make the CL. Often has an adverse effect on their league form, but would certainly shake things up again.

a perfect scenario for us is newcaslte  get 4th, fail to qualify. stops chelsea, spurs, getting money and new players and stops newcastle becoming attractive to a higher calibre of player (though i am sure they will sign some obscure guy from a random league who turns out to be top draw anyway).

Snap, that's what I hope for! But can't see Newcastle taking 4th, still feel Chelsea will have their say in it.

If the time came for Kenny to leave (not advocating, could be ten years from now happily) and another Alan Pardew was available, as in another manager in the same position and reputation, how would we react to his appointment at Liverpool? I have a big concern that Liverpool couldn't even consider someone in that position although Bill Shankly himself was not winning first division titles before he came to Liverpool.

The grudge is Kenny, it's against Kenny, no idea why but loads of them hate him.
One idiot I saw ranting on facebook a few months back basically accused him of dismantling a team that was going to sweep all before them and turning them into relegation certanties. I guess that is the concensus up there. Fuckwits.

I think back to when Dalglish managed us and head and shoulders above everything else I remember how he got us into The Champions League.

Our campaign started with an epic match against Barcelona at ST JAMES' PARK   :P    We stormed into a 3-0 lead with an Asprilla hat-trick.

Although they pulled two goals back late into the game the Toons performance was hailed as one of our best ever. For an hour we outclassed Barcelona and to this day it is one of the best games I have ever been to.

Coming out of the stadium I swapped my black n white toon shirt with a Barca fan for his.  I wouldn't sell that shirt for any price.

Mind you Dynamo Kiev & PSV must have outclassed them as well because Barca finished bottom of the group.

I placed a £20 wager at the bookies before season kicked off, Newcastle to finish in top 4, at odds of 100-1..  Hoping to have 2 Grand next May and a nice little trip to NYC out of it, if not well it's only £20 down the plug hole, and a bit of excitement.
Starting to get a lil bit excited now, and why not, yesterday was our 6th win on the bounce.    Whatever happens we are in Europe next season one way or another so for me it's been a good season.

You'll need to make a lot of squad changes for next season. Your first eleven is good, but your squad is quite thin.
Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

Disappointing.

Where do they go from here? What are their fans' expectations for next season now, especially if they do finish fourth? You've got to commend whoever is making the decisions there on footballing matters. The players that they bought, like Cabaye, Tiote, Santon, Ben Arfa, Ba, Cisse etc. were not exactly unknown, but they've taken chances on good players that has paid off for them. They've also bought all of the above with the Carroll money, and still have some to spare (not strictly true saying they bought them with the Carroll money, but you get my point.)

Would be truly heart-breaking that but the Champions definitely have to be in it. Quite hoping Newcastle finish 3rd and Arsenal or Spurs finish 4th, would be funnier.
