S_P, congratulations on downloading an app that offers identical functionality to the iPod's built in WiFi settings panel.

But it looks pretty which is all that matters.

Tried loads of the free ones but the vast majority are complete shite, gimmicky and I'd never use them. Currently got Remote, MyRail Lite and TubeStatus which are all pretty good.

Hmm. I wonder why they don't show up in settings. Could it be that they're too weak to use and hence useless?

Plus, it's only useful when it's running as apps cannot run in the background. So unless your Spidey senses have an inkling that there's a faint wireless network in the vicinity, it's pretty useless.

Wireless turns iPod into a phone
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7767055.stm
I've been looking at this the last couple of weeks as I was in the USA.

It's only for second generation iPod Touches isn't it? Which is good for them but not for people like me with 1st gen. I only bought mine a couple of weeks before the 2nd gen came out but because I didn't buy it from Apple direct, but from Bestbuy, the bastards wouldn't swap it, as Apple did for my mate. Also the Nike jogging software is not compatible with 1st gen which is a pi........
Tell me I'm wrong and I'll be very happy.

Don't think so.

The second gen supports Apple's new earphones with built-in microphone in the wire.

Sorry.

I had a look at AntiTerror and the one in the German AppStore, but it seems to be based on the EU's list of embargos. Oddly, all of the screenshots seem to be of bin Laden.

If you are downloading a game not through itunes you wouldhave to jailbreak it to allow access to the files in your touch.

You can add any app from the app store to your touch whether jailbroken or not, but if you are NOT downloading it through the app store your touch would need to be jailbroken.

There's two apps called AppShare and Installous (get them from Cydia- might need to add a source, though) which enable you to get most stuff of the App Store for free, but remember, I didn't tell you this.

Turns out you only need the Installous app now (don't need AppShare aswell)

Anyway, the source is: http://cydia.hackulo.us/
