Highlight of this series for me so far.  Malcolm Tucker doing what he does best.

Brilliant.  Brilliant.  Brilliant
Unfortunately, even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave behind a lot of wonderful memories, like when my M1 and I kissed for the first time at Welkom, when she looked straight into my eyes and told me 'I love you'.

Was saying this to a mate last night, but part of me can't fully accept Peter Capaldi as Tucker, simply cos a bit of my brain still thinks he's the lanky but likeable trying to sniff Bill Kenwright's missus in Local Hero. Jamie's rage is somehow more plausible.

Tucker's pissed off state and his rage is generated really from the ineptitude of all those around him.

Jamie is much more angrier and far more of a psycho, plus he has that 'look' as well.

Did anyone else pick up on the exchange between Malcolm and Stuart re: Bacon's dismissal from Blue Peter?

'Course, nobody would have noticed if he'd been presenting Magpie',
'No, we weren't allowed to watch Magpie in our house either"

Another good put-down: "She's like a squirrel in a pedal bin".

And I can't remember the exact quote, but Olly asking Emma if she thought the reason her mum walked out on the family was only because of her dad.... a perfect Olly line.

Not to mention the fact his wife left him for a journo. I don't think he has ever quite accepted that.

Jamie is much more angrier and far more of a psycho, plus he has that 'look' as well.

I think Jamie isn't in this series - read somewhere that Chris Addison (Ollie) confirmed that on twitter.

It kinda makes sense as Jamie hated the nutters faction and wouldn't be as Machiavellian as Malcolm in keeping in with the new PM. But it's a damn shame all the same.

'Tis true  :(

You mean as in "they pop up like fckn melanoma" hate them?  :)

You're right, but I'm surprised it hasn't proved possible (or at least an option) to write him into this series in some context. Same goes for Julius (and if you think that's a stretch, c.f. Mandelson)

Even the smallest cameo would be appreciated.

Serious TV drama is dead to me since 'The Wire' ended.

That's a shame because I reckon it's up there with The Wire, it's certainly just as entertaining IMO.

I'm confused- is this series 2 or series 3? The Internet suggests it's s3 but I thought it was s2.

Unless the Christmas specials count as s2?

Either way I know what I'm asking for from Santa.

I tried to download some yesterday and people were saying "yeah, series 1 and series 2 are both on the first DVD", so I find myself wondering if I missed a series.

Isn't series 2 when the whole 'nutters' and Jamie thing started?

Series 1: six episodes, Chris Langham etc etc
Series 2: ??
Series 3: the series we're on now.

Wikipedia says Jamie came in during the first series, so why am I missing that in my mind?
