Well deserved for the Kiwis! Happy to see an absolute gent like Williamson win something major for the Kiwis.

As for India, I feel we were a bit unlucky. The Kiwis benefited from playing in the English conditions for longer than we did, and we faced the bigger brunt from the weather.

We'll always have the Gabba test and Australia series to look back on as a part of this test championship.

They've become pretty good at not winning things. fuck knows where the world t20 is going to be held later this year but they're hosting the next world cup (again, somehow) too according to the schedule.

God created light, the sky, the land, the seas, the sun, moon, stars and all the plants and animals in the time it took to settle this one match, and the main complaint most people watching had at the end of it was that it hadn’t gone on even longer. That, in fact, it would take a three-match series to really thrash it out properly.

And despite that, it all turned out perfectly, on one long, enthralling last day’s play, ending on a beautiful late afternoon, with New Zealand’s two greatest batsmen grinding away against one of the finest all-around bowling attacks ever put together, trying to find the final 30 runs their team needed for victory.

I hope the ICC persists with the WTC going forward. I'd like to see them increase the cycle to 4 years so every Test playing nation can play each other home and away before a 3 match decider between the top 2.

Granted the opposition isn’t doing much - but Woakes and Curran’s figures are ludicrous.

Woakes in particular - 9 runs off 4 overs is top quality in a test match. In a 20-20...

the treatment of woakes since last summer has been a bit of a disgrace really. he's played about 4 minutes of cricket in the past 10 months or so.

Yeah, he’s spent a year of his life living in bubbles to barely bowl a ball in anger. Just made me wonder when Morgan said that, surely he can bowl 4 overs on back to back days.

Some Sri Lanka players have been sent back for being seen in a public place. I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous now. Why are they still living like prisoners when literally no players in any other sport are having to behave like this? They have been in England long enough now without Covid so no new strains have been brought in so they should be able to do what the rest of us do. End this madness, for English and foreign players alike.
