He's only signed for PSG to tap up Mbappe ;)
Another €50k/week to him until the end of the transfer window from Liverpool, payable back with high interest if the transfer doesn't materialize. ;)

I'm glad he's gone there. Serves the purpose of a hefty contract to live like a king for the rest of his life, in a nice city and probably add a few trophies too.

What a phenomenal servant he's been to the club, right up there with some of the best midfielders we've had. Missed 11 games in total in the PL and 3 games in the CL for the whole time he's been here. Ridiculous consistency.

Potentially him, Shaq and Divock all leaving this summer. I hope people pay them all the proper respect they deserve. We've obviously got players who have also contributed massively to our success but those three (Gini more so of course) have all played integral parts. All four goals and Shaqs assist against Barca, Divs goals against Spurs, Everton and Newcastle, Shaqs goals against United and Burnley (I think) and some incredible assists and of course Gini with some massive goals. Particularly in 16/17 when he scored a good amount of goals to help us into the CL, big goals against City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley and then helping us over the line on the last day.

And now one final act as he taps Mbappe up for us.
(On Naby Keita)

He's had about 2 good games for us since he has been here.

Kloppo:

“As a team we said our goodbyes to Gini at Anfield after the final game of the season. There was the public farewell on the pitch with the guard of honour. But then a more private occasion also,”

“It was difficult for all of us because of how much this astonishing person means to the group. He’s been a big part of our lives for so long. There is nothing I won’t miss about him.

“I will miss the player he is like crazy – highest-quality ability, one of the smartest players I have ever had the privilege to coach. His contribution was off the scale, a manager’s dream.

“But as a person he’ll leave just as big a hole. A more giving individual you could not wish to meet. Gini is very strong and opinionated, but his motivation is only to help the team – always. His teammates adored him and respected him in equal measure.

“His smile lit up our workplace. He was a huge part of our beating heart.

“Of course, he is now someone else’s and on behalf of the team we wish him great success in France with PSG. It is no surprise he’s joined such an amazing club. Knowing his personality, he will fall in love with the city and the team – and they with him.

“Farewell, Gini: you came, you saw, you won the lot. You’re a Liverpool legend now and forever.”

From here.
"I’m pretty much used to nothing more in my life than to get up after a knock. Nothing has happened more often to me than this, so that’s no problem” - Jürgen Klopp

Farewell Gini and thanks for the memories. He can be proud of his contributions to this club.
In many ways he started our journey under Klopp with that goal against Boro. The Barca goals will go down in folklore.
Huge gap in the squad to fill as both a player and a person.
Was always one of my favourite Liverpool players and now he’ll always be one of my favourite Liverpool greats.
"A football club isn't just made up of players, coaches and directors. More than anything else it's the supporters who make a club, and that perhaps is the ingredient which best distinguishes Liverpool Football Club from every other team. The supporters." - Luis Javier García Sanz

Liverpool Legend, Mentality Monster, Consistently Classy.

We are going to miss him a lot. Consummate professional who was always available when we needed him and scored some massive goals for us (Middlesbrough 16/17, Roma 17/18, Cardiff 18/19, Barcelona 18/19 x2 and I’m sure I’m forgetting others). The fact he was voted into the captain’s group solidifies how much he was respected by the playing and coaching staff and that smile. That damn smile.

All the best in Paris Gini, be sure to have a word to Kylian for us!  ;D

What a player. Contribution to our recent success is woefully under appreciated by some.

Bigger contributor to Liverpool success than more lauded midfielders who came before him.

Along with most of the lads playing now he”ll be classed as a Liverpool legend (or very close to one depending on your definition).

Understand the reasons he’s leaving but still sorry to see him leave the club.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Can't remember much they've done for us. Apart from winning us a European Cup, that is. And administering a thrashing to Everton. And...

Disappointed Gini has gone to a sportswashing club. It just shows that players don’t actually give a fuck where their money comes from as long as they get it. He will be a good signing for them tho.

A great player for us and I’m disappointed we couldn’t come to an agreement with him. It’s still puzzling how we couldn’t agree on an extension two or three years ago. Maybe it will be for the best for both club and player but he will definitely be missed. PSG have gotten a great player and (by all accounts) an even better person.

Well, if PSG are going to mop up some more trophies in the coming years I'm happy Gini will add a few medals to a very impressive selection. Loved what he done here but would be happy as well for him to move a little further up the pitch and into a more attacking role, he really can be a goalscoring midfielder and chip in with good numbers.

He'll be a legend for us for his Barcelona brace alone. But he's had a huge contribution. A captain (even in Vice-vice capacity).

He clearly had another couple of years (at least ) in him in the PL, but the risk of tripling someone's wages when they're already over 30 was always going to be too great I think. Should have doubled his money and given him 5 years in 2018, but hopefully we'll learn from that.

I loved Gini as a player, but he has always been a pain to try and negotiate with. Personally, I think he always intended to run his deal down and leave on a free. To be honest if I was a player nowadays I would probably do the same.

Before he joined Liverpool he was going to join Spurs, eulogised about Pochetino but then couldn't agree personal terms. He has failed to negotiate a deal with Liverpool and then done the same with Barca.

He is a top professional and a quality player, but I think he may find the grass isn't always greener. I think he may struggle to nail down a starting place. PSG have some real quality midfield options.
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10
