Been saying that Noel should've gone solo years ago.... I hope he does a solo album properly with new songs sometime in th'future.
Cant see that happening until after Oasis
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

I can , Infact he has said after this tour he'd like to do it and he'd like the others to try their own thing aswell. I think Noels getting pissed off with the touring , wouldnt be surprised if this was his last to be honest.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds to be released on October 17. Tracks include Stop The Clocks, If I Had A Gun and The Death Of You And
Me

Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has just announced details of his first album since the split with brother Liam in 2009. Noel Gallagher And The High Flying Birds will release a self-titled album on October 17th - the first of two albums already in the can, according to the guitarist, who is speaking at a press conference in London. The albums were recorded in London and LA. Very interestingly as far as we're concerned, the second LP is a collaboration with the deeply cosmic Amorphous Androgynous.

the tracklisting:

Everybody's On The Run
Dream On
If I Had A Gun...
The Death Of You And Me
(I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine
AKA...What A Life!
Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks
AKA...Broken Arrow
(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach
Stop The Clocks

Yeah love both of those myself too.  Have heard snippets of If I Had A Gun too from soundchecks with Oasis which sounded very promising too.  Buzzing about this, any mention of touring?

Gallagher blames advert argument for Oasis split

Noel Gallagher has finally revealed the reason for the furious bust-up that brought about the end of Oasis - he fell out with his brother after Liam demanded a free advert for his clothing range in the band's tour programme.

The Wonderwall hitmakers broke up in August, 2009 after a brawl between the siblings backstage at a concert in Paris, France.

Guitarist Gallagher has refused to discuss the reasons for the split ever since, but at a press conference to announce his debut solo album on Wednesday he finally broke his silence.

He claims his younger brother stormed into the band's dressing room at the Paris venue wielding a guitar like an "axe" in an argument over Liam's attempts to advertise his Pretty Green label in the Oasis tour programme.

Gallagher says, "He nearly took my face off with (the guitar)... I didn't think it was right for him to be flogging his gear (clothes) to our fans. There was a massive row about that."

The pair became involved in a scuffle, during which Liam bizarrely threw a plum at his brother, and Gallagher then decided to walk away from the band for good.

He adds, "Part of me wishes it did end like that - 'plum throws plum'."

The rocker also revealed tensions in the band had been mounting ever since they cancelled a headline set at a festival days before their break-up "because (Liam) had a hangover". At the time, the axed gig was blamed on the singer's throat infection.

It didn't take long for Gallagher's comments about the bust-up to infuriate his brother - within hours of the press conference, Liam took to his Twitter.com blog for the first time in a month and wrote: "SH**BAG".

"Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If you think they're out to get you, it means you think you matter"

Don't care what anyone says about Oasis, but the Importance of Being Idle and Falling Down showed Noel still had it when he wanted to write good songs on their last two albums.
Really looking forward to this, hope he doesn't go down the Beady Eye route of dated plodding rock shite (and I have everything Oasis ever did by the way Beady Eye fans!), because anything will be better than that effort.

I don't think he will though. He has the ability to put out a cracking album. His Albert Hall live acoustic stuff is excellent.

Noel is an artist, Liam is a leech IMO.

Liam is, for me, stuck in his Lennon worship. His singing has even started to mimick Lennon, even more than he ever did, because he actually never did when Oasis started, despite the 'They are like The Beatles' detractors. He's a classless twat.

Noel has always had the ability to write some cracking tunes as well as songs, if that makes any sense? The Dreams we have As Children acoustic set from the Albert Hall was brilliant, and if his album is anything like that kind of vibe, I'd be happy. Or even like Falling Down, that kind of song style.

Liam comes across as a right prick in this video -

Always preferred Noel to Liam , his vocal ability is still very good whereas Liam's voice has gone to pot completely , it dosent agree with my ears anymore.

Got really high hopes for this album , really hope he steers clear of the Beady Eye route and still has the Oasis magic and influence in there. His gigs should be good as well , promising to play Oasis songs.

The other album he has worked on sounds very intresting as well with the band  Amorphous Androgynous. In his press conference he said jazz , funk and Krautrock will all be in there and its really far out.In a good year so far for music this is more to look forward to.
