New Super Mario Bros on Wii offers the first multiplayer Super Mario Bros. platform game ever. You can now take on the adventures of Mario with your friends in tow, it will offer a platform Mario experience for all the family to enjoy.
Players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds of Mario alone as before or invite up to three friends to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. New Super Mario Bros Wii will retain the elements we all know and love but also introduce some fantastic new levels and surprises including quirky new suits, characters and innovative ways to use the Wii remote to guide your character through the adventure.

I loved the DS version of this (in fact, first Mario game I've ever finished), can't wait til this comes out.

But wish it was the classic Mario music.

Looking forward to this, will be first game on wii I'll have played for more than a year (well other than bit of multiplayer smash bros)

But as with this on the ds it never quite has the simplicity or magic that made mario bros on nes and snes so great

They keep moving the dates for SMG2 for some reason. I've had it on pre order for months now on Amazon with no confirmed release date.

Anyone got the New Super Mario Bros. Wii ??

Got mine today and although I am just in the second world I have to say that this game is so much fun. The Multiplayer mode is fantastic... just a shame that it doesn't have online play and that you have to play mario when playing alone.
But the rest is fantastic. Talked to some other people who got it and they love it aswell. Seems to be one of the best games for the wii.

Any other opinions?

It's fucking excellent. Been looking forward to this for ages on the wii and it doesn't dissapoint. Easy to handle, looks nice and, well it's a new super mario game. Unless they fucked up the controls you really can't go wrong, they didn't and it's great. Been playing it 2 player with the missus who really digs it as well, it's a lot of fun in multi player , i think. A must, if you've got a wii

got this on friday, felt a bit mundane to begin with but it is very good once you progress from world 1

multiplayer on the normal game is very good
