It was for the vast majority of the game utterly woeful.
I was in the brief period of the game when we were on top and Raul was on the right impressed, he was putting a couple of really good forward ball in the direction of Torres and N'Gog.
He is the really frustrating part, we have the best striker in the fucking world in our side, we starve him of the ball and consequently get battered by the great, the good and the bang average. We put two balls of a good standard into his feet, with (and this is important) the goal ahead of him and we end up turning a 2-0 deficit to a potential point.
Defensively it was utter shite, literally and totally shite. From Poulsen and Gerrard in front of the back four to Johnson getting skinned by a 36 year old, not for pace but because of woeful positioning, our centre halves either climbing all over forwards of forgetting that they are there and a general inability to relieve pressure by having midfielders making intelligent runs to give them options.
Steven's two goals where outstanding, great nerve with the penalty and a lovely free kick but he is not only wasted but poor playing in th centre of midfield, the midfield duo of Poulsen-Gerrard was never going to and will never work. Common sense would have put Gerrard ahead of Raul and Lucas in alongside him. And some of the decision making after the goal made very little sense, we shouldn't have put Joe Cole anywhere near the right and the introduction of Jovanovic saw Agger playing out o position himself isolated in the lead up to the winner.
Also Nani is a twat of a player.
