This will go down as one of the most valuable wins under Klopp, 8 first team players injured and a goal down. The mentality monsters came out and absolutely played like warriors.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Think that game would've given City and Arsenal the heebie-jeebies.

Second half like that again shows the importance of the crowd. Unbelievable effort.

Old news but Klopp is really a genius. The direct ball to Gakpo, Van Dijk as false CB and the switch of play between Elliot and RB really gave our attack some much needed teeth!

Well done lads - I really hope we can go all the way!

How Klopp has managed to do this from the doldrums of last season is frankly absurd.

If we win against City at home I will start to genuinely believe we can do this.

Nice to get a little GD boost too, wasn't expecting that at HT that's for sure.

And not league but once again we see Arsenal looking shit in a tough away game, there's not a chance they can get the points needed with their away games left, will stick around for a while though as have an easy schedule for a bit.

Arsenal just conceded to lose 1-0 v Porto. Need to go big second leg, can’t be resting anyone.

Yep this is a great result for us. We actually want them to progress, and they should, but they need to focus 100% on it.

The dream is for City to draw Arsenal in the semi-final if I'm honest.

100%

If Arsenal could have beaten Porto in the manner we usually do, a nice 4 or 5 nil, the second leg would be nothing to worry about.

It helps us now that they have a big game on Sat night against Newcastle (who they already have a contentious relationship with after the St James game earlier this season).

Then around the second leg which they need to win -

Sat 9th March 5:30 Arsenal v Brentford
Tues 12th March 8pm Arsenal v Porto
Sat 16th March 12:30 Arsenal v Chelsea

Two decent local sides with really shit kick-off times sandwiching a vital CL game is a bit of a nightmare for them. It's the sort of thing we have had to deal with for the last few years, but they haven't - so we will see what they're made of over that week, for sure.

Really hoping one or both drop points before we play again, or at least before we play City. City away at Bournemouth and Mancs at home before we play them. Neither can be classed as walkovers, especially as they have looked slightly subdued in recent games.

United could be kingmakers, still have to play all three. So could Spurs but think United will relish being disruptors a bit more.

Its getting to the point of who blinks first now that its a gameweek away from a team being top of the table. Injuries for us won’t help and at present Arsenal are looking the best of the three teams at the top.

As long as we don’t mess up its going to come down to:

Us vs Cheats
Cheats vs Arsenal
Then each of the top 3s fixtures against Utd and Spurs.

We still have to get past Villa and Everton away too!

We play first next weekend so imperative we win. Another banana skin too.

Arsenal won’t lose to Sheffield United but maybe United can cause an upset against City.

Arsenal then play Brentford at home before us on the weekend we have City. They could be top then too.

United are going to get battered at City. If we’re expecting a slip up by Abu Dhabi it isn’t happening here.

it could be a three way tie after 29 games if we draw with City at home. That's pretty crazy.

Home game against City may just decide the direction of the trophy. That's how crucial that game is. Hoping Salah and Nunez will be fit.

We have to concentrate on our games as I don't see anyone doing us any favours. I guess Spurs is a difficult game and all three teams have to play them but we play them at home. Brighton is also a difficult game if they are in the mood and we also play them at home.

We have some really tough matches left and it will be probably small things that decide it.

Everyone has difficult games the big factors are whether the game is home or away and the state of injuries for both teams. For instance, facing Spurs with or without Son. Players retuning from injury is massive for us.

Europe could play a part too.

I think Arsenal have the harder fixtures but haven’t studied it too much.

City also play us and Arsenal in next three / four depending on FA Cup.

Salah and Nunez shouldn't be risked in the final if they are 50/50 with the City game in the next three games (pretty sure they won't play midweek)
