As with any chairman he made good decisions (Houllier & Benitez) and he made bad decisions (Souness and H & G). He was gutted when Roy Evans walked away from the joint managerial pact. Evans was right to do so. There can only be one boss.

He was the last chairman for me when football was more about sport than business. Delighted he was around to see us win the Premiership. Condolences to his friends and family. May he Rest In Peace.

RIP David glad he saw us win the title again bet he was made up with it selling to H&G was a huge mistake but i don't think he should take all the blame

Very sad news. Although he didn't go many games recently, at least he managed to see his beloved reds win the league again.
Hope you find some peace with your wife David. Say hello to Shanks and Bob.

As one article says he was a second son who stepped forward after the death of his sibling.  Read years ago he never regarded himself as either a business nor numbers man but took the helm at the club out of true love for LFC.

G&H was a big mistake but he was badly advised and unlike some others he felt deep regret and remorse for how it turned out.  A guilt he carried with him from many years and again shows how much he loved the club.

A proper red and glad he was able to return for a game and has seen the recent successes which will hopefully have helped heal the wounds for him.

RIP David Moores. YNWA.

The right chairman at the wrong time. He was a big footballing man at a period in our history when we needed a businessman to transition us into the PL commercial era. Unfortunately he did leave us behind on that score and it culminated in the panic sale to Gillett and Hicks.

Still, can't deny his love for the club and we still had some great moments.

RIP David.

For anyone that’s never seen this, give it a read, explains really well how things were from his perspective

H&G was a mistake but at the end of the day, we are were we are now and we didn't completely lose our soul getting sold to an oil state or Russian oligarch like some of our rivals. Take the pain of H&G over that every day. RIP.

RIP David Moores. A true red who loved the club.

Sad that he died so soon after his wife, yet strangely that sort of thing happens more frequently than you might imagine. After being together for so long, when one partner goes, the other soon follows. I find it both sad and beautiful in its own way, all at the same time.
