Imagine a warehouse, where a little midget fellow is driving a forklift. He can't see over the top, he's got great big platform shoes on so he can reach the pedals, cos of his little legs.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Anton's a lovely bloke, but should he be working here?

To be fair the Finchy and Garth alter ego's are pretty good, funnier even. No touching Brent though. I'm waiting for him to make an appearance.

Today I lent S1 of the proper Office to someone who has only ever seen the Yank version, and was surprised to hear there was an 'original'. In their defence they are Canadian, but it'll be interesting to see how she does with Gervais' effort.

A lot of Americans didn't know there was an original.

Also, there is a Union Jack on the Michael Scott's (the Gervais' character) desk in the US version

ya.  That looks like him.  Very funny.  The shows are similar, but great in their own right.

to be honest I think Americans miss a lot when watching the original and folks over there miss some of the US version - cultural references etc.

Which series do I have?

I've taped a series that includes the quiz night, the motivational speech he does where he plays Simply the Best, the episode with Brent accepting the new job, but having to turn it down because of the blood pressure. Tim goes for one of the new birds, forgetting Dawn.

Which series is that? 1 or 2?

Oh, and that was my 1000th post!  :scarf

And Brent brings his relative in, who shags one of the work people. Tim asks Dawn for a drink in front of everyone during the team building session.

Tim asking Dawn for a drink at the team building is series 1. Most of the stuff you mentioned in the first post is series 2. Sounds like you have a mix.
