Yeah they directly knocked off Cost Rica huge upset. Good for them, too. Small impoverished country, that. Bit of a break for Canada looks like, so far.
Canada is finally making some small progress, weve been waiting for this generationally. We qualified an ok team in 86 and haven't been back to the show since. Weve probably averaged about 80th in the world or something, in my lifetime. Poor, poor football teams, neither depth nor talent. But its been hugely popular amongst the young through-out the years, everybody plays. it stood to reason we should be getting better but we never did.
Now this team here, we actually have a smidgen of talent and an ok-ishh-y depth, at least in relative terms. Enough to at least deal with the smaller countries who traditionally beat us, anyway.
