Southampton (a)
Sunderland (h)
Arsenal (a)
Everton (a)
City (h) *away in Russia few days before vs CSKA
Palace (a)

Real test for them now in the league, we'll see what they are all about.

They surely have another C.L game between these fixtures.

Just taken now.

Italy would climb above us if they make roughly the same points as us by the end of the season.

Touché. Was that literally added tonight?

We have comparably a much better set of fixtures after the Man United game to get a run of form going, but we'll see if we can do it.

ManU have been pretty poor so far this season, and it doesn't matter how many points they have managed to collect in the Premier League. The team is barely playing better than Moyes' team. To be honest, they have a decent squad, they should be producing MUCH better football. Results are strictly secondary, their football is very poor.

ManCity have also been gash in Europe, but at least in the league matches, they seem OK.

Come on mate. Born and bred in Newton Heath Manchester postal district 10, played in Bank Street Clayton Manchester postal district 11 until 1910 when they moved to Old Trafford - just over the city of Manchester boundary.

Are you really saying if ever Liverpool found it necessary to build a new stadium anywhere over the boundary of the city of Liverpool (Litherland or Crosby or wherever) they would forfeit the right to be called Liverpool Football Club ? Yeah right. . . . :P :P :P
There is nothing wrong with striving to win, so long as you don't set the prize above the game. There can be no dishonour in defeat nor any conceit in victory. What matters above all is that the team plays in the right spirit, with skill, courage, fair play,no favour and the result accepted without bitterness. Sir Matt Busby CBE KCSG 1909-1994

The postal district can also include other areas outside the official boundaries.  E.g. the Chester postal district stretches into Wales (Flintshire mainly).

You don't remember the Everton moving to Kirkby fun? They even had a fans committee called KEIOC (Keep Everton In Our City) because they didn't want to use the word "Liverpool" to describe their heartfelt need to stay in Liverpool. (Of course they haven't even been based in Everton itself for even longer than your lot vacated Manchester, but that's another matter.)

If we're talking about Carra being from Bootle and Gerrard from Huyton, that's different. I'm not sure why exactly.  ;)

Who's talking about club names? There's always been a number of examples of clubs being named after a town or city they're not located in - Nottingham Forest being a good example (located in West Bridgford, across the Trent from Nottingham). What your club calls itself doesn't alter the fact that they don't play in Manchester

Yes, which is why some people in Wirral think that they live in Cheshire rather than Merseyside. (They are in Merseyside.)
To be fair, until the metropolitan counties were created and some shire counties had their boundaries changed (was it 1975? Can't remember), the Wirral district of Merseyside was part of Cheshire. Cheshire took a slice of Lancashire at the same time as it lost a lot of the Wirral, absorbing Lancashire towns like Widnes and Warrington

I set myself up for that one. I'm still more confident about europe though, we were by far the better team. Just one of those nights and all that.

Normally I'm a lot more annoyed when we get beat but Luke Shaws injury was by far the worst part of the night.
