He was captain fantastic today, also played well against Sunderland last week. He has his flaws and did not play well  against west brom or arsenal. Let's hope he can stay consistent.

his best game in a Rodgers team, he can move on from this. But his age will still be a factor soon unless you want to bury your head in the sand.

Knows how much a win would have meant. Ran his socks off, and literally gave it all he fucking could. Finished the goal off with class and celebrated with a kiss to the badge and pointing to the 96 in heaven.. just a shame United's 12th man denied us 3 points.

You could see how gutted he was at the final whistle.

seemed to pick his moments to go for the spectacular pass today which is encouraging  :) hopefully he can confound this with consistency rather than saving it for man utd.

It's clear we should manage him. Being realistic, had he played against Young Boys today could be different.

We have some years left of a great talent. We must make the best use of it. Luckily midfield is our most covered area and we have a good "Team B" to lead us through the initial stages of the Cups and Europa League

Did the club proud today. What a fucking player. He was the reason I really fell in love with football and he still has that magic about him.

Gerrard was fantastic today, his best performance since the Euros. And above all he played like a true captain, leading by example.

Hope he can get the positives from this game although it was clear to see how hard he took the result today.

Shame on some of you! Shameful.

Gerrard is a world class player and world class players get use to things.

Some of you need to stop thinking the man is superman. Others need to step the fuck up.

Beast like today. Can't believe anyone doubted a player of STEVEN GERRARDS quality would struggle playing for any team. Felt sorry for him. Though he wasn't let down by anyone at our club.

I will admit i was one that would of doubted he could change so late in his Career but after some shacking performances he stepping up to the plate. Well played
Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez admitted after the match that the manner of his side's victory had stunned him and he stated: "My problem is that I don't have words to express the things that I feel at this moment"

His best performance for many a year, reigned his hollywood passing in impressively, it'll be interesting to see if he plays in the same way against lesser teams from now on.

He needs to be rested that´s for sure. Today it was a very disciplined performances with one of his top moments on top of that...

There was a situation around the 10th minute of the game where he wanted to go for a long ball and it kind of looked like he seemed to hear Rodgers voice ringing in his head then.. "posession, posession"... and went for the simple pass. ;)
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10
