Me neither, but just poked my head in. Thought I was on GOT with a slice of lemon it was that bitter.
All because we're a threat to them reclaiming the league title. Last year they wouldn't be too arsed. :)

It was a dig, and a fucking 'deep' dig at that.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

Prolly get a fucking, but bollocks to it.

Given time, he's gonna be our 'Ferguson'.

Brendan is a winner, a rare breed, and will do anything within his powers to  get/keep us at the top.

He'd shit all over Maureen.

Fact.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Watching Brendan's press conferences these days, I'm never sure whether to settle down with a notepad or my cock in my hand.  Superb mastery of the media.

Indeed.

Feguson 'always' turned up.

Brendan is getting into the groove.

He says things that are incredibly cutting, but smiles when he says them so you doubt the intention.

I have no doubt whatsoever that he could fell the 'great oak' that is Mourinho with a couple of well aimed swipes, and smile as everyone else cried "Timber".

Bit of a ruthless streak has our Brendan, and I love it.

Rodgers the person it took a while for me to like, too much spin at first, we now see the genuine man and its good to see.

I think that's spot on. He's got nothing to bluster about now - the results do that for him - and we can see him for what he is.

The problem with most other clubs is they viewed Brendan as a joke figure at the start of last season thanks to that documentary. They ridiculed him for his Brentisms and all that nonsense. Now that it turns out that actually he's a bit fucking good they can't handle it, like "this wasn't supposed to happen". Stuff like that always leads to defensiveness and bitterness rather than acknowledging the job he's done. No problem, we can do that instead!

Not a big fan of the line...I like it when he talks us up and talks himself up. Not a fan of the sly, funny yes funny but sly dig at a rival. Especially when that rivals coach and main players have been extremely complimentary to us ever since that game at the Etihad a few months back.

But its not worth their fans getting pissy.

That documentary was like playing pass the parcel with a live grenade.

It was nothing. Too many folks got unnecessarily worked up over it. Some were simply looking for an excuse not to like the bloke (or actually like anyone who Fenway liked) and jumped on this as 'evidence'. I couldn't care less about it at the time. It didn't mean anything. It certainly didn't mean anything compared to the memory of how his outstanding Swansea team had monopolised the ball at Anfield.

And now it's all water under the bridge anyway. Except this. It turned out that all the talk was for real. In the absence of competitive fixtures during the first month he arrived all he could do was talk (and coach his players behind closed doors). And when the games began it turned out he could walk the walk too.

A brilliant manager.

City fans wouldn't have picked up on that Rodgers comment if we were still shite. Best to just get used to the fact that they are now a rival and every little thing will be jumped on now.

Fact.

Correct, in ever manner.
If Mourinho hangs around for more than a year or so he's going to have to find new ways, indeed become more of a scoundrel than he is now, to attempt to out-wit our man Brendan. Brendan is wiser than his years and wise to the history of managerial duels in the PL. He'll have his moments of verbal ferocity but his imperious focus on the club and its football will not be deviated by a man like Mourinho or any others that try to distract the manager of the Champions of England.

City fans need to remember that, that comment were for the reason stated above, prior to the game he was VERY complementary about their manager and their team.

I kinda liked that, there's better things to do than get embroiled with petty feuds (like concentrating on your own team)...some managers may need that to take the pressure of their own teams, but that's just a way of addressing an inadequacy in their ability to relieve pressure through their management of the players...which Brendan does very well.  I think it also helps appeal to neutrals (though I don't think that's the reason he does it) which helps viewing figures and growing the fan base...playing attractive sexy football also helps!

Forget other clubs look back to the first few weeks/months of last season and you'll see lots of people sticking the knife in. The "documentary" was a massive fuck up by the club which hung him out to dry but he didn't come out that bad at all. Lots of people were ready to bitch and moan about some of the things he was doing - be it media image or the football side of things - before he even got going.

People are talking about his media image less now because we're winning and ultimately if you're winning games of football it doesn't fucking matter what you say in the press as long as it's not disrespectful to your own club. As a fanbase though we're very sensitive and touchy about what people say. I love the man but I really don't give a fuck what he says in his press conferences. I don't see much of a difference between now and previously.

As for the magnitude of the achievement if we win the league....I don't know how to describe it. I never thought at the start of the season we'd be close to where we are currently. To do this against the BILLIONS of Chelsea and City is unbelievable. I really think it'll be the greatest domestic triumph by anyone in this county in decades. I can't think off the top of my head who has achieved something impressive. Maybe Derby when they first won it but the gulf in finances is so big now I don't think anything compares.
It's wonderful, it's marvellous, it's 3-3

I woke up this morning and the sun was beaming, the birds were singing, and Liverpool were top of the league with 4 games to go. I've felt like a 16 year old again these past few weeks, as I was in 1988 when we were playing similarly dazzling football and going for the title then too.
Rodgers has us dreaming of great things again and I haven't felt this positive about our great club in a long, long time. Whatever happens from now until the end of the season, we owe this man (and the players) a great deal. Not least our respect, our gratitude and our full support.

How he has kept so calm and focused over these last few weeks, I just find amazing. He surely knows what bringing the title home to Anfield after all this time would mean to everyone connected with the club. How absolutely massive it would be. It would arguably be the most significant of our title wins since 1964. And the fact that he's done it playing such entertaining football, while carrying himself with such composure and class, is just about as much as we could have hoped for.

The scenes outside Anfield before the City and Sunderland were just extraordinary, and I freely admit that they brought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion. Compared to the atmosphere at the City v Sunderland game the other night, the difference was quite striking. They can keep their millions, because we have something money can never buy. A soul, and a heart. And we also have a manager who just gets us. We've seen in the past what this combination can do, and the great feats it can achieve.
We've been blessed with some great managers down the years, and though he's won nothing yet, I really believe we could be adding Rodgers to that list soon. But for now, he'll do for me.

I agree, and from the point of view that I was unimpressed by the whole thing at the time too. I was not overly impressed with the appointment, but then I did not really know who we should have appointed as I feel far too removed from the action. The doctor seemed to me crass, although I did see the point. And Rodgers did come across as a bit of a cock/David Brent, and I say that using the opinions of people who did not have an opinion before seeing it as they did not know him. But in retrospect, storm in a tea cup, it did not warrant that much of a response.

He has backed his words with actions and he carries himself with authority and dignity. So yeah, Brendan Rodgers Liverpool manager sounds about right. Neck completely wound in.

That's as sufficient reward as he could ask for :)
