Talk (walk?) quietly and carry a big stick

Quote
Origin
The use of this proverb in english appears to have begun with Theodore Roosevelt. He is quoted as saying 'I have always been fond of the West African proverb - speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.'

not quotes exactly, but was reminded of a favaourite gag of mine today with regards pesky ignorant cyclists...

first is from a Woody Allen film... one of my top film moments... Allen is waltzing along a street whistling I think, when he sees a car backing into a tight space... he stops, walks back a little and directs the driver into the space... 'yep.. keep it coming, yep, thats it, just a little more... *PRANG!' ... yep.'  ;D Love doing that one.

Another is the holiday makers trying to take a snap... love to intervene and offer my help. Americans and Germans are double plus good. God knows how many people have photos of just their heads at the bottom. 'Do you know how to work a zoom lens? 'Oh yeah.'  ;)
