It’s good to compare Maitlis and Sopel with BBC political coverage, and also to hear their views on the BBC too.

Coincidently I've just seen a TV equivalent called In the Clubhouse on BT Sport. Really enjoyed it.  Cheers

What did you make of the pod Kenny? Just done a first one with Sam Warburton that’s a really good listen.

Could not get into that at all. Holly wood luvvies crapping on with their friends was my summation of it. It is pretty light and I'm sure its perfect for certain times of day.

Just got in to the Newsagents

Really good to get long form answers from smart people on a topic of the day and sit in on their discussion of it. It is not truly hard journalism as they all just waffle on about how they feel about it. Makes it a bit easier to listen to than a more dedicated hard news show.

Jermain Defoes 'Outside the Lines' on BBC Sounds

I listened to most of it when I was back in England as it doesn't seem available outside the UK.

Pretty infectious energetic guy and his journey to want to be manager. Entertaining listening

I’ve listened to a couple. It’s produced by Marketplace in the US who make good quality. First one I listened was a young married couple with low wages who then get 100k awarded from
An accident one of them was in years earlier. Not surprisingly they through it. Surprisingly they stay married, with through the issues and end up ok.

Next one I listened to was Fin Subs. Quite a different tack. Guys who want to feel humiliated and degraded by sending money to total strangers on the net. Apparently it’s a thing.

Ah, thanks Andy :)

I’m really drawn to podcasts that educate me about people’s thoughts, cultures or lifestyles I know nothing about. Fin subs (Finanacial submissive) being a new one to me. I also like the Dopey podcast. It’s by a guy who is an ex booze and pill addict. His guests are all ex addicts from one thing or another. Hearing how other people live their lives is amazing to me.

Started listening to "The Villain Was Right" where it's from the perspective that the villain in a movie was morally right.  Enjoying it so far.

Adolf Hitler: Rise & Downfall

Narrated by Paul McGann so you know its a serious documentary. But genuinely fascinating, with academic talking heads delving into the psychological and sociological aspects that contributed to a loner nutcase becoming the most fearsome dictator ever.

Not a podcast I listen to all that much, but the Desert Island Discs with Adrian Edmondson is brilliant - funny and heartbreaking and beautiful.
