Someone was reminding me of the Neil Ashton - Daily Mail articles that were clearly from Rodgers briefing him. "Still no explanation for how they valued Firmino at £29m" might go down as one of the stupidest things ever. The man needs to be kept far away from recruitment.
Just read that piece, it's horrendous.
There did was some disconnect between Rodgers and some others at the club when it came to transfers, him not knowing what to do with Firmino being a prime example of that translating on the pitch. And it did seem a case of Rodgers signing some players and others at the club signing others (from the outside anyway) Though I don't think it's as simple as him signing poor ones and the club signing all the better ones.
Either way, it's clear he's a better coach but for someone criticised for his arrogance, I wished he trusted himself more when he was here. At times, particularly after the summer of 2014, he seemed to lack confidence in the teams he put out and we didn't seem to have a defined style of play, though that wasn't entirely his fault.
Hope he does well at Leicester anyway. What is that three ex-Liverpool managers managing in the Premier League now? And one of them was feted as being one of England's best managers.
