Lana Del Rey has finally released the masterpiece she’s been threatening to do ever since she came out.

Great album.

Must do this. Speaking of Tropical weather and sending bombs into it... had 2.5 listens to this today after a heads up... 'Tropical Trash: SOUTHERN INDIANA DRONE FOOTAGE (Jan '19)

https://tropicaltrash.bandcamp.com/album/southern-indiana-drone-footage

Not from Indiana, but Kentucky. Always a good place. Very Sonic Youth like but beginning to dig it.

Really beginning to dig it now. It's not upgraded Sonic Youth, or upgraded Fall or upgraded Trumans Water, but I'd give this a 78/100 etc.

Lingua Ignota's 'Caligula'. Quite something. On my second listen... not sure why.

Great album.

It's very good. Seems effortless and clever at the same time.

Will need to give it a few more listens but it's the most impressed I've been in a new album in a long time.

Isn't it just. The man is a master of making music that I adore. He'll be gunning for my top spot in AOTY once more. Could make it two in a row.

New Sandy Alex G just 'dropped'. First listen. Not as immediate as Rocket but some good stuff.

Enjoyed it. Listened to it once... think my favourite song was California. I drifted in and out but kept drifting back in to the end so I'd hold up a '6' card here.

I'm enjoying this one too. I always start to say 'her' when I'm talking about Ezra; think he'd probably like that.

Might have to give the new Lana Del Rey a try then. I've been a fan since the start really but I find she goes over the same things a lot.

Some of her songs I never get tired of though, West Coast in particular is stunning.

I liked the Lana Del Ray album - you pretty much know what you're getting quality wise at this point - but it could, and probably should have cut three or four songs. It does start to drag a bit after a while.

Technically it's for next year, but I just got tickets to see Supergrass in Belfast next February in the pre-sale, really looking forward to seeing them, a hugely underrated band, Sofa of my lethargy off their debut album is easily in my top 5 tracks ever.

Diabolique by L’Épée is a pretty good album. Collaboration of Anton Newcombe from  Brian Jonestown Massacre and members of The Liminanas.

Yeah mate, it was called Matador, decent album, he played a solo show here about 4 years ago, in a very very small venue, tickets sold out immediately, which is why I was over the moon to get these in the pre-sale!

Ah not heard Matador. He released one last year called Worlds Strongest Man, was superb. Will have to have a look for where Supergrass are playing.

I just heard the first minute of the re-make of I Know Where The Summer Goes which confirmed why I don't listen to their new stuff. It's maybe my favorite band of all time but after The Life Pursuit they're not doing it for me anymore. I'd rather encapsulate the memory of the old stuff and keep it untainted.

I liked the Lana Del Ray album - you pretty much know what you're getting quality wise at this point - but it could, and probably should have cut three or four songs. It does start to drag a bit after a while.

It's great, isn't it? Honeymoon (2015) I still hold as her best, maybe it will change.  ;D

Sampha the Great is truly great. Loving it so far. Final Form is one of the great songs of the year.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Debut album from Sam Fender is really good. Bit of a Springsteeny/Ryan Adams sound, he’s got a great voice too.

I'll pick this up and have quite like his solo releases thus far, but I'm certainly not excited for it like I might have been ten years ago - getting it for reasons somewhere between habit and curiosity, I suppose!

Ezra Furman's new one is great. A lot punkier than his/her last one.

This, on the other hand, is going to be a RAWK AOTY contender for me - it's superb.  Rage presented joyfully, at times frantic and claustrophobic but punctuated by soaring guitar solos in a couple of tracks.  Trauma makes for a great dramatic centrepiece to the album, which is just so well written throughout - My Teeth Hurt in particular.

Fair enough - I’m not sure how much you’ve heard of his really recent stuff but ‘Once’ and ‘One of Us’ are as enjoyable as some Oasis classics to me. That’s obviously not to say that they’re as good, or as well written, but I’m going to see him in November and I’m as excited to see some of these get played as I am some of the older stuff.

Got halfway through the Liam Gallagher one and gave up. It's not bad, but it's just exactly what you'd expect. You can usually spot which Beatles/Lennon/Stones song prompted him to write each one.

Only got onto the new Tool album yesterday, and have had that on non stop since. Brilliant.
