Thought, just this once, I'd check out caferouge's take on this hilarity and this was one of the comments I came across:

Whatever happened to him getting done for skipping post match interviews (which are contractually part of the deal that gets the huge fees the clubs get from the TV)?

He is without doubt one of the most unsporting managers of all time. Revie wasn't as bad

I'm sure I read somewhere that the FA weren't going to do anything about this as noone had complained  ::)

Considering that he isnt at his best when it comes to in-game tactical decisions...a touchline ban shouldnt hurt his team that much.

Nice to see him banned nonetheless though.

I really won't be too invested in this until the judgment on his inevitable appeal is made. Probably scrap the 5 match ban and award him another knighthood for the injustice he's suffered.
Liverpool don't turn up against shit teams so Wenger picks the shittest line up possible.

Jonathan Lucas (Liverpool fan) says...
I may be a Liverpool fan, but every time Sir Alex is charged with improper conduct, I laugh - not at him, but rather the FA - they clearly have a vendetta against him as nobody else receives these kind of fines - and look at that, he is banned for the match against Manchester City - the FA needs to be consistent or it needs to disappear - preferably the latter.

From Sky Sports. REALLY? He's supposedly one of ours.

I feel this ban is long overdue myself.

Didn't the cheating twat have a two game suspended ban to begin with?

Will he ?  He's guaranteed a two game ban as his suspended punishment has been invoked, this is from an offence last season, he can't appeal against that.  This means he could only possibly appeal against the three games for the last offence, at best (or worst depending on your viewpoint) he'll maybe get a game knocked off, of course the FA could deem any appeal to be frivolous and throw in an extra game.

Well at least we now know BigBruceyGrob's real name.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Can you imagine the uproar if that actually did happen ?  That said we're talking about 'Sir' Alex, while I can't see him getting the ban significantly reduced, I wouldn't be overly surprised if he did manage it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he actually got lawyers involved and turned it into a long, drawn out affair, maybe even taking it to court.  By the time it's all over, so will the season and he'll be in the dug out for the remainder.  It's the sort of arrogant thing the prick would do.

Nice to see him banned nonetheless though.

It'll stop him berating the officials, we've seen him literally throw his arms in the air and get free kicks since most ref's are shithouses.

It defies belief that any Manc could think this ban is unfair

I mean he openly called a ref corrupt and suddenly they think the entire world is against them because he gets punished for it

I think that's a pretty fair punishment so long as the appeal fails.

3 games, plus the 2 from his suspended sentence plus a fine.  Sounds right to me.  I wish the fine was higher but that simply isn't gonna happen with any managers.

He'll win the appeal and it'll be reduced to 2/3. Probably 2. Can't see the FA not wanting Mr Ferguson at Wembley.

Apparently the charge is faxed to him within 24 hours and he then has 48 hours after that to appeal, i.e. by Saturday. Bit of a cop out really.

It won't be lowered to two games, that would mean he isn't getting punished at all, just having the suspended ban invoked.

It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't contest it.  Then he'll get his punishment reduced so that he's back in the dug out for the City game.

Hopefully, if he does, they'll increase it to 7 along with a good hard kick in the bollocks.

I don't think it'll make much of a difference really. How does his presence on the field help the team exactly? He just sits there chewing gum and looking confused the whole time.

Oh right...I forgot. He does hassle the referee a lot. That helps a lot I guess.

Worst thing that could of happened. Ferguson will play the siege mentality - it's us against them boys - everyone hates us - they're all against us card and it will galvanise them.

Even when it's good it'd bad. I'd rather nothing of happened till the end of the season.
