Lucky. Klopp is too stubborn. This system and MAC experiment as a 6 is not working.
This system isn’t working? Despite our only loss in about 20 games being last week against Spurs.

Disgraceful until the equaliser.

Lack of a proper DM is killing us at times but where is the urgency? Strolling about like dickheads

If we win though it's a great result but wake the fuck up.

Quite poor until we conceded. All our luck has come from pressing, which is good. Just a bit concerning how bad we are at building from the back with possession.

Outside the box its a pen, inside its a yellow cos of the penalty. I have no idea why.

If VVD tackled Isak in the box instead of outside he would have gotten a yellow.

Cos its a pen " double jeopardy " and all that.

No the rules are very clear. That's only if they attempted to play the ball.

Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball or a challenge for the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.), the offending player must be sent off.

When we turn it on teams cannot handle us, that 5 mins showed.

Carragher is awful on Comms, so fucking long-winded and his play calling on that penalty was irritating AF, trying to make out it wasn't a Penalty.

First 35 mins or so of that game we were terrible. No impetus, let them dictate a slow speed. Then a lazy pass from Virgil and Macca was just no alive to it and I think ali will be disappointed. But it woke us up a little.

Great first goal from nothing, then finally started to put pressure on them which paid off. As for the penalty - well it was two penalties. But I dont understand how its not a red card? He doesnt try to play the ball and stops a clear goals scoring opportunity, thats a definition of a red isnt it?

We have better footballers, when playing a pace they can't live with us. Need to inject that into the second half and take the game away from them.

The quintessential Liverpool scoreline of the season so far. Anyone putting money on it ending up 1-3?

For large parts of that half we were very lackadaisical, and we're lucky that Brighton only scored 1. The frontline and Szobo looked good but everyone else hadn't been up for it. Robbo and VVD with some awful passes putting MacAllister under awful pressure.

Maybe Endo for Elliott to shore up that midfield?
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Lethargic for 25 minutes and then, once again, the goal woke us up and we were going for everything, nipping at their heels. Mac Allister's not had a great game. I don't blame him for the goal but he probably should have been booked a few minutes before when he hacked down one of their players after getting run past like he wasn't there.

Ultimately, we're still missing that DM sentinel who can position himself in front of the defence and cut out through balls, because they were having a lot of success with them in the early part of the game.

Not sure about their goal. Should macallistar do better or is the pass even on?maybe it's a symptom of a new player still getting used to how we play.

Admittedly I didn't see it very well.

It was all on Mac Allister for me. He doesn't realise Adringa is there and waits for the ball to come to him rather than meeting it.

I've actually watched Brighton's previous 2 games and I thought to myself that they looked dreadful playing out from the back and if they were to try it against us we'd be all over them and would have a lot of joy. For the first 40 mins I couldn't believe what I was watching as they looked incredible playing out  and our press couldn't get anywhere near them, and then boom that happens.

I personally think Mac Allister is having a bit of a stinker, obviously switched off for their goal, and there was another chance where we lost the ball and he just jogged back whilst their player ran through our midfield and had a shot. I'd get Endo on rather soon in place of Macca.

That old saying in football, but the next goal is crucial.

Real turnaround as we looked pretty flat before the goal. If it wasn’t for last week shenanigans I’m sure they’d have found a way to avoid giving that penalty.

Step up the pace a bit 2nd half, and less aimless passing it around between defenders.

Not really.

Up until the first 35 minutes or so it was, the pressing created both goals which was the only thing that was good imo.

No intensity for most of the half.
