The fuck is this fella on
I remember when 5Live was better than the telly for in-game commentary. Now it seems just as bad.

Chelsea in another final. Time for another 0-0 and win on pens if we get there? It seems weird that we play each other alot in finals and semis.

Look at my list. It’s not like the other teams make it comfortable for us either! Not even Cardiff or Birmingham. Arguably not had a straight forward domestic final since 1992 (maybe Bolton in 95, or United in 03 but that one in particular was very tense until the final minutes).

Have we ever had a straight forward Semi Final? This is Liverpool we watch, nothing is ever straight forward!

Had a few in the league cup to be fair.

Palace and Watford spring to mind, even Arsenal in 22 was fairly straight forward.

Well, that was quite embarrassing from 'Boro, to concede 6 against this average Chelsea team ...

If Liverpool had played Boro, we probably would have won three nil in a well controlled game where they never had a sniff. But it wouldn't have had anything like the same kind as ejaculatory enthusiasm as Chelsea's "achievement".

Missing a bunch of players and away to a PL team too.  Not that surprising a result at all, especially with Chelsea's recent home form.

If your thinking about the Palace semi in 2001, even that wasn't straight forward, we went 2-0 down at Palace, got one back, but lost the first leg 2-1 [i remember Owen missing a few sitters in that leg], second leg we came out & blitzed Palace with 3 goals in 6 minutes early on, which made the the tie more comfortable than it was looking at kickoff, & ended up winning 5-0.

One of my favourite games from that season (the second leg obviously!). Litmanen, Fowler and Smicer linked up so well together. Three of our more intelligent footballers from that time when we were probably more physical than technical. And a young Gerrard absolutely running the show from right back.

You’re right about Owen missing a few in the first leg. I think a young Clinton Morrison had been a bit lippy about it. He then missed a sitter in front of the Kop and got subbed off to much jeering!

What’s the point on spreading out the games, presumably for TV reasons to them not put it on a mainstream channel?

No idea mate but wtf point is that when Welsh speakers have their own channel anyway.

We'll find it somewhere in English on the firestick but the fa cup is meant to be on terrestrial TV for everyone.

Would love to see the stats for teams conceding goals trying to play out from the back. Swansea have given two away trying to play out. Seems stupid.

And another goal because they're trying to play out.

Swansea just appointed that Notts County coach who tactically is a knock off Pep. Easy pickings for Iraola.

Swansea fans demand that style of play though since the Martinez/Rodgers days

They have. I know it's only Swansea but they look a really strong side now and have been excellent over the past few months. I didn't see Tottenham game which they lost, but apparently they played well there too and maybe should have got something.

Makes our performance there look really impressive.
