FA have charged Ivan Toney with 232 breaches of betting rules. I suspect this is why Southgate didn’t want him. IF these stand up I suspect he’s looking at a very long suspension, maybe even career ending at the top level.
Depends on what the breaches are really. If they're just 232 random football bets, the punishment won't be that significant... but if any directly involve a club that Toney plays/played for then he's in deep shit.
Crosby Nick never fails.
Barton and Sturridge are recent examples of big bans.
232! To state the very obvious, that's fucking loads
In 4 years. Just over one a week.Bet City are chuffed he was allowed to play last week though!
Replay request, sorry demand, incoming.
Does the eight months include the off-season?
Just so happen to play city on the last day, just made their job a lot easier if they needed a win
The premier league is an utter joke, can’t wait to see what punishment Abu Dhabi get
Official: Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been suspended from all football and football-related activity with immediate effect for eight months. He has also been fined with £50,000 —and warned as to his future conduct for breaches of The FA’s Betting Rules.
If it was a team facing relegation getting to face them then fair enough if the other teams where put out. But Abu Dhabi are beating everyone at the moment, like losing Toney makes a difference. But the whole thing is farcical. HE’s been allowed to play most of the season, and now his ban covers the off season. The premier league is an utter joke, can’t wait to see what punishment Abu Dhabi get
Transfer ban between September and December.
Nice timing to ban him before they face Man City. It won’t matter now but it could’ve been critical.
Craig Burnley V West Ham - WEST HAM WIN - INCORRECT
Ivan Toney, who promotes gambling day in day out, in a league that promotes gambling basically 24/7, is punished for having a bet. The PL is a disgrace. Just shows where their priorities lie.
It should be eight months during the footballing calendar shouldn't it? The off season basically reduces the ban by three months.
So they'll punish him and Brentford during a season but umm not Everton?
