Done Trend. I was having tea and then right while I'm offline, my clock runs
So, this is my side
Toni Schumacher
Wim Suurbier Ronald Koeman Frank de Boer Ruud Krol
Johan Neeskens Willem van Hanegem
Bernd Schuster
Dennis Bergkamp Johan Cruyff Rob Rensenbrink
Can someone graph it up in Netherlands colors. TIA.
I believe I have a Top 5 player in history in Cruyff, Top 5 players in their positions in history in Krol, Koeman and Neeskens, with van Hanegem, Bergkamp, Schumacher and Rensenbrink not far behind (probably Top 15 in their positions). Then comes Schuster who is probably Top 20 in Attacking Mids and the team is completed by two more World Class players of their generations in Wim Suurbier and Frank de Boer.
Needless to say, that the principles of Total Football are in place here. So, we go back to the old sweeper/stopper combo in Koeman/de Boer partnership. Koeman is one of the highest scoring CBs ever. I have attacking full-backs/wing-backs. They do not cross high though, it's worked out through cut-backs from wide to the front three. Neeskens is the all-rounder in midfield, while van Hanegem dictates play from the deep. Schuster is the pure playmaker, while other players can also act as playmakers (van Hanegem from deep, Bergkamp and Cruyff in attack). Rensenbrink can also drift wide, as well as combine with the other members of the front three. He can score lots of goals as well. Bergkamp is versatile and can help in linking the midfield and the attack as well as create goals himself and score his share. Cruyff is the all-rounder in attack, and he is the false 9. He can drop deep, he can connect play, he can venture forward, he can receive passes in the box, he can exchange play with Bergkamp and Rensenbrink and he can score goals.
Thoughts?
