Debut out of the way. Thought he hesitated which slowed things down and put him in difficult positions. It changed in the second half, even more when Salah and Firmino came on. Not an easy thing to play beside Camacho and Fabinho, who isn't even a CB, away against a PL side. Something to build on for him. Expect to see more of Hoever in the coming years though.

Agree with everything said here. Shamed to say I don't give a fuck about the result, bigger fish to fry, but what we just saw there is barely believable.

His only real obvious weakness was his strength but that’s to be expected at his age playing against men. Really does look like a huge talent, I expect we’ll see him again in pre-season.

Regardless of whether or not he makes another first-team squad this season, he needs to stay at Melwood because he's got outrageous potential.

To be thrown on after five minutes and turn in a performance like that at 16 is incredible - he never looked flustered, made a few little mistakes which is to be expected but just took everything in his stride. The way he turned out of trouble and then went past three or four Wolves players takes some self-belief and he clearly isn't someone that is phased by pressure or being thrown in at the deep end.

I knew he was a real prospect from watching him for the academy sides, but he's much further along the line than I thought in terms of being ready for the first-team. He was excellent.

Unbelievably good debut. Only looked 16 at a couple of moments he was put under pressure physically. Playing 90 minutes against adults at this level for the first time, his focus didn't drop off at all.

Given circumstances, very good performance, that run at the end would be a very good confidence booster. Do think that if it had been a senior CB, Milner would have chased the ball carrier (for the first goal). He was trying to cover for Jan (not Jan's fault though)

Good thing is that he has now got a senior game under his belt. Given that we will have our senior CB's coming back soon, he will be away from the limelight for a while (expect to see him next in the League Cup next year). This should be good for this development.

Anybody else notice his style seems to be modelled after Van Dijk, especially the stride (not surprised given the Dutch connection, he is the one guy he must be looking up to the most).
