This is my first thread here.
There has been a couple of occasions this season when the crowd has chanted for Kenny. Be it they want a change in the attitude, a change in manager, or even, King Kenny to take over, his name has been sung nevertheless.
I am a thousand miles away, but share the pain regardless. I am 45, has watched redmen since early 1970 as an epitomy for everything that can is great about football: the holy trinity of the club and its manager, of the players, and of the fans and the community around it. This holy trinity is non-existent at the moment. The past years have hurt us in more ways I ever thought possible.
Yesterday, apparently, some of the traveling fans sung for Kenny. I was not there. If I would have been there, I would have joined in. At the moment the only thing I can do is sing his name on this message board.
Here it goes. If I am silenced, or abused as apparently the traveling fans yesterday were, then so be it. But I cannot be silent anymore. This is breaking my heart. There is no light at the end of this tunnel. You think you have seen the worse, and the it is only gets even worse than what it was before.
It has been said Kenny has been out of touch with being a manager for too long. I do not care, I do not believe it matters.
Would he put a more positive system in place? I believe he would.
Would he go after a result from each game? I believe he would.
Would he have the respect of all our players? I believe he would.
Would any of our senior players think they are bigger than him? I do not believe anyone would.
Would he get better results? I believe he would.
Even when not, would the overall morale be better? I believe it would.
Would he be given time and patience until the end of season no matter what? I believe he would.
Would anyone question a move that would appoint him as a new manager, effective immediately? I believe no one would do that.
Would he have the respect of the fan base, uniting us once again? I believe he would.
Would he be able to bring the holy trinity towards each others again. I believe he would.
Would even the press hold him in high regard, and give him time before the regular sh*t storm would make the headlines? I believe they would.
Should we start to sing his name, louder, ever louder? I believe we should.
Here we go:
