I think that being Scotland captain and qualifying for the Euros has given him even more confidence. He was outstanding tonight.

Sensational yet again. Full of energy, great delivery, and that dribble where he ended up being fouled was pure John Barnes/Vegard Heggem.

Absolutely needs resting. As does Wijnaldum. Hopefully Thiago is back and we can start with him, Jones and Milner.

He surely has to be taking delivery of some private special reserve, sugar-tax-dodging, caffeine-fortified formulation of Irn Bru. Thankfully it’s not on WADA’s list as yet. Much as I hate to give oxygen to any quote from the Portuguese Pulis, he was genuinely spot when, in his final post-match hours before United sacked him, he said “I am still tired just looking at Robertson.”

It’s not all energy and perpetual motion though. That beautifully faded cross in (for Jota’s header) has become a trademark weapon.

How in the fuck did no other side get in on Robbo for £8m? It is theft on a scale we are unlikely to see the likes of again. Extraordinary player.

Robbo wasn't even an automatic starter for Hull but had an absolute worldie against us when they beat us 2-0 in 2017.

It's easy to say but I think it underplays just how extraordinary his development has been. For sure the scouting system that saw the potential and brought him here deserves a lot of credit but he just keeps getting better every season.

Out of this world scouting by LFC. There isn't a FB in world football I would swap him for.

Don't forget the coaches too. They bring out the best in our players. Many were ok players like Robbo till they met Klopp and the Gang.

This happens all the time in football - the very laziest of scouting.

Just kidding, I'm sure they did their homework. That said, I doubt anyone saw this coming. He had a pretty slow start for us as well.

It's a crying shame that all those 'Player of the Season' type awards almost always go to Forwards (whose numbers are apparent) OR, once in a while, giants in the CB position (like Big Virg) who stop those Forwards!

Robbo is simply phenomenal in his position and role. He does everything with aplomb.
But because he doesn't fit into the categories above he'll probably never win many individual awards.

That's why these 'best player in the team/league' awards are so irrelevant.

Should be awards for every position/role and Robbo is a shoe-in for that.
In fact, he's the template for all other defenders in the league.

He's just incredible. As most of Liverpool players, just someone you love to watch, to enjoy being part of the club. He's one those players that you can be proud of, inside and outside the pitch.

I'm astounded he was able to put that performance in last night, given the exertions and release of the time playing with Scotland.

He was brilliant. Albrighton got nothing from him, his cross for Jota's goal was pinpoint and he kept on offering the overlap for Mane.

I reckon the signing of Tsimikas has pushed him on.

He was already world class, but he's gone up another level and has arguably been our best player this season.

Get Kostas up to speed on what? Cos he played for Greece last week so shouldn't need match fitness building up. Tsimikas needs to play the whole game, this is what he was bought for
