I can see Babel scoring a few in this game if he gets in. He likes to take a shot from pretty much anywhere and their shit keeper wont be even paying attention

yeh...that's if he can get into the box...Like everyone's been saying...he's a striker!..that's where he's suppose to play..not wing...babel wont get his opportunities like that... look at the boy..he's on fire...

I've said for ages that Spurs away would be our first defeat. Just one of those feelings. The media will be all over the Keane return; he'll have an ineffective game and we'll lose by a goal with the witty retort of 'Kean-o, what's the score?' booming around White Hart Lane despite the fact we're still joint top and have won more trophies in the past eight years than Tottenham fans will see in their lifetime.

I reckon we'll win by >2 goal margin. Keane with his first Prem goal... maybe another as well.

we dont need to play 2 holding midfielders against a team like spurs ffs

We played 2 against chelsea and we created loads, havein mash and Alonso in the middlle alows Alonso more freedom to get forward as he did against chelsea.
Come on you mighty fucking red men!

We looked tired the other night whereas Spurs will get a confidence boost from their late draw against their derby rivals, little worried about this one in all honesty  ???

See were you're coming from, but its a top v bottom of the table clash.....we should have the confidence in our own ability not to be worried.

Spurs still looked shite for the most part the other night, and conceded 4 goals in the process.

exactly. spurs got thought a lesson on wed night for 89 minutes. arsenal let them off the hook big time by going for a 5th goal when they should've just held onto the ball. people are getting carried away with the scoreline when in reality most of the game was about as one sided as you will see

they will have gained confidence from wednesdays match but they still looked extremely fragile and leaderless.

if we can keep it tight for the first 25-30 mins i think we should be able to overpower them and beat them comfortably.but if they score early it will be a difficult game.

Can't see anything less than a win. fully fit squad bar Torres possibly and playing exceptionally good football home and away. Would start with the same team that started against Chelsea, unless Torres is declared as fully fit.
Many fans would be happy with a point at the lane a few seasons ago, but we need to continue with this consistent form and win as many games as possible.

A rather amusing piece of false perspective indeed.

Like the one with Keane between Pennent & Babel with the red training hats.

Think we'll line-up like this.

                          Reina

Arbeloa         Carra        Agger        Dossena

                    Masch    Alonso

                          Gerrard

Kuyt                                              Riera
                           Keane

Aurelio has played a few on the trot now, can see Rafa giving him a rest.

That's my team except with Aurelio in. Theory being don't change if you don't have to. Given that Rafa has said he won't pick teams with an eye on the champions league, I'd say Fabio will stay. Especially against a team that has some pace going forward.

That said, if we're controlling the middle of the park anyway maybe having Doss pinging balls into the box would be the way to go. Hard one to call really.

No we didn't. We more than matched them in the first half. It didn't go wrong until the second half when we conceded after a minute. Then it was pretty much all Arsenal until the last 5 minutes

To be honest, I'll be disappointed if we don't win this.
I think this is the way we have to look at it.

There is a reason Spurs are bottom of the league.  We must prey on their insecurities and weaknesses.

They don't just go away with the addition of a new manager.

If Ledley plays I fancy us to get a result of some kind. He makes a huge difference to our defence. Probably be a score draw, but I wouldn't rule out a late winner on the break ;)

Ill be very disappointed if we dont win this one...I reckon Spurs will come out flying in the first 20 minutes, but we should have more than enough to get the win.

If we do draw then at least we will be a point clear of Chelsea, and id have took that after 11 games.

Exactly. I expect a classic away performance from the tricky Reds. Stop them playing for the first 25 mins to half an hour with our pressing game, let the fans start to get on their backs, those insecurities will start to creep in, they'll get anxious and over-stretch themselves, then we hit them - goal before half time.

Second half we come out with 10-15 minutes of sustained possession/ pressure football, hopefully score the second, then go to a counter-attacking game.

I have come to the conclusion that the spurs game is a win only game  .i see some saying a draw would be a great result well i don't think it will be  spurs have not become brilliant overnight  yes a tricky game but if we are to be champions we need to win at teams like spurs . we actually have a decent record there so why should we be fearful .

There is a big difference in opinion here.  Some people saying we should win, others saying a draw will be a good result and some even mentioning that we will lose.

What we have to understand is that Spurs will be a tough game.  They won't approach it in the same way as they did the Sunderland and Stoke games for example.  They will be up for this and view themselves as the underdog because they know we are in form atm.

Spurs have enough talent within their squad to beat ANY team in the Premier League imo.  All it takes is for the likes of King, Modric and Bentley to shine and play a displined game and they could give anyone a right go for their money.

This is a test for us.  If we are to challenge for the title then this is the type of test we need to be passing.  Spurs have renewed confidence but they are still the same team which has achieved only 6 points from 30.  The likes of United and Chelsea, in the recent past, would roll these lot over, regardless of change of manager or renewed confidence.  We need to do the same.

Well his knee is fucked so he can only manage 1 game a week usually. Saying that he played last Thursday and then again on Sunday. He seems to be in full training at the moment though so would expect him to play tomorrow

Not confident about this game to be honest. I think it's nailed on to be one of those where their keeper suddenly turns into Lev Yashin on speed. Hope I'm wrong like...

Big period this. The next few weeks are filled with 'winnable' games. If we can get through them taking near enough maximum points I may start to believe we can actually do something in the league this time. With the games we have though, we need to be increasing the gap on the others by December, not letting them close in.

Same line up as Chelsea away but with Dossena in for Aurelio.

I don't think we disagree on the toughness of the task ahead, but what is your pass/fail criterion for this game?

Rafa just said in the pre match conference that torres is "very, very close" to traveling for spurs.

Fingers crossed
