Amidst all the discussion about our new Manager, WhatsApp has told me it needs to upgrade tomorrow - will this upgrade wipe my conversation history?  There are some things in there I need to retain...

No updating WhatsApp does not delete your conversations.

On android it is settings, chats and calls and back up chats. It normally does this automatically anyway on a daily basis.

It will just change the kernel to a new version and will not affect your existing data/records in any way.

The done thing if you're worried in these situations is to back up your whatsapp received images folder, and then forward it to craigds@redandwhitekop.com where it will be securely stored.
