Haha, I drove (the back way) around there today to go to Tesco and thought the same.

Looks like they are doing the final tarmac on the bit leading down to the Liver Building, so hopefully that bit will be done soon, but think they're moving further down then.

I worked in the city back in 1998 and I'm sure they had roadworks on the Strand then so probably not 😜

Driving through is as horrible as ever. I came through on Saturday night. One lane open southbound, with holes and unmarked raised ironworks all over the place. I was slaloming all over the road in order to miss them. Then I had the shambolic potholefest that is Park Road to negotiate. My teeth were rattling.

The stretch by St Pats has been diabolical for a decade.

And the Strand has taken a leaf out of Sisyphus's book.

St James Place is an absolutely abysmal stretch of tarmac.  And that shoddy building on the roadside can't be demolished quickly enough.

Whenever Liverpool gets roadworks, it seems to take forever. Do they ever work, and if they do, there seems to be a few workies dotted about. Victoria Street seemed like it took forever.

There seems to be plenty around whenever I go down there - just seems to take them forever.

I was in the office yesterday (The Capital Building, Old Hall Street) and from our floor which is up in the heavens, you can look down on that junction by St Nics Church, the Atlantic Hotel etc, its chaos traffic wise. Often, you'll see an ambulance/fire engine trying to get through and taking an eternity, whoever agreed to this set up is a ballbag.

The ones by me on County Road haven't even been being worked on for weeks, another sterling job by LCC.

Yeah don’t head anywhere near the Strand if getting into town from this direction. Head down Old Hall then go around the back and try and join further down. You’ll get caught still but it’s much much better.

In fairness I wasn't going down the Strand ;D Westminster Road was chocker so and there was a police block so went down Vauxhall Road instead but that was fucked and all, tunnel was closed because of a crash wasn't it. I'm just ranting about traffic really ;D

Not Liverpool but Birkenhead, but have you seen the shitty road outside the new Wirral Met buildings by the RoRo terminal?  Fucking hell.

Yeah, apparently it's something like a 'priority junction and it's a piece of confusing shit.

Some fella stopped me on the strand the other day while I was on my bike. He said when does Derby road end, so I told him he wasn't on Derby road anymore and he's up by the strand. He goes "actually mate I'm after a shop called scandals"..well I said I can't help you there mate and carried on down by the back of Costco's, but I had this niggling feeling I've seen that name somewhere, then It clicked and it's that big sex shop on the left of Derby road towards Bootle  :D dirty bugger
