Nah, I'd agree with this. I would say it's one of the very few weaknesses to his game. He has misjudged those situations quite a few times before.

Cant believe you'd be annoyed with Pepe joining when you need a new 'keeper due to VDS retiring.

Wouldn't pay much attention to that. Lady Di was saying similar stuff a few weeks before he handed in a TR.

Plus it is the official magazine, no?
The only print happy, clappy stories, and aren't likely to suggest he is on his way out.
Nice quotes, but I am not getting carried away, and no one else should.

But as Jimmy Corkill mentioned up there, for standing up to the former regime when our local lads weren't doing so, when he does go, provided he doesn't fuck about, he should leave with him head well and truly high and be welcomed back.

Good lad, Pepe!
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

I get the feeling Pepe is feeling this club again, he seems to have that big smile back on his face and his mojo has returned.

Pepe will be with us next season, I am sure of it.

Couldn't agree more.

I was convinced he was off until I watched him at the Emirates, his body language was so much more positive, the way he celebrated at the end has now convinced me he's staying.

So predictable that fella. There's a bit of a shift in views about Reina's future and Ballague suddenly has the inside scoop.

Ya,agree with ya but the fact that he got the Torres thing right just gives me straws to clutch at really.

Who's this Jeremy fella anyway? Amazing how these people suddenly sprout up on twitter with all the inside info. Just put scout or journalist in your bio and away you go. Wouldn't suprise me if that Ballague quote was fabricated either.

He seems to have lost his mojo. Think he needs a missed pen to get it back, even if it's a skied one.

Saving penalties isn't a skill though. It's all about researching the opposition players and luck.

So really can't hold, not saving pens, against Pepe.

That probably is why he isn't saving as many. Didn't reina say he did alot of work with him on which way striker like to usually go for a penalty and he used to help torres on goalkeepers habits to know which finish to use.

It was Pepe's knowledge that informed Casillas which way to go in the penalty stop against Paraguay during the World Cup.  Does that count?

;D I've just got the idea in my head of the meeting Pepe arranges with John Henry:

Pepe: I want to leave the club. Arsenal need a good goalkeeper and they want to offer me a considerable amount of money

JH: But we have a good future ahead.

Pepe: Oh ok where do I sign?

Balague can be a bit of a monotonous tit at times

So Mr. Balague, can you tell us if Pepe Reina will be staying or leaving Liverpool in the summer?

Balague: "Yes, I can definitely confirm he will either stay or go. It will definitely be one or the other

Must have a right splintered arse on him from sitting on the fence so much

I've been wondering where Valero is now.  Surely Valero being brought back would help Pepe make up his mind to stay.

IIRC he went to Inter with Rafa. I don't follow Italian football at all so I don't know if he's still there or if he left when Rafa did.

I'm feeling more and more as though he'll stay as well. I don't think he'll go to Man U, as he at least has enough club loyalty not to be that much of an asshole, and I don't think Arsenal is as attractive a destination as they were last year. I reckon it would take a team like Real, Barca, or maybe Inter calling to get him to move. And that's unlikely to happen, no?

And I do, unfortunately, agree that he's not particularly great at penalties. But would you rather have a Pepe who's crap at penalties or a shoddy overall keeper who's great at them?
