Phil Babb
« on: January 30, 2003, 06:38:06 pm »
As I walked to the Anny Road along the fanzine sellers there was a new face along the lines on the sellers.  A5 size, quite a home made effort, "Phil Babb's Balls".  Just glancing through it looked good, some stuff about Kop Talk some just winding up Blues and Mancs and some LFC related, but most looking like a light hearted view on stuff.

I never really got to look through it, 'cos I left it at Anfield, but did anyone else buy one?  I doubt it as the seller I bought one off was struggling for change of a flim!  Only a doller, looked decent value for money.

Do we need a new fanzine.  TLW, RAOTL and TTWAR are all good fanzines, but do we need another one.  If so, I think an existing site like YNWA or here should do it, but it would be a shit load of work.

Haha,
remember reading a bit from yours quickly.

On the train back I thought.  I don't remember Mark carrying that out with him when I was bored and telling an Arsenal exactly how stupid he was (fuck me my Mum knew more about football - "example, yeah our fans have been shit since we lost to Man Utd").

Anyway, if as you say we have a new fanzine then surly it is a bad time for YNWA or RAWK to bring one out.

I would still like to produce a top notch 'AnfieldShrine' fanzine, but currently the two vital components are missing:

a. Cash

b. Bagz' Free Time

.... but if anyone is up for helping me out with it, let me know. Anyone know a cheap printers or whatever.

YNWA doesn’t have any plans for a fanzine at the moment.

We will carry on developing the site for a while yet – still quite a lot to do!!

Although I’m sure you’ve all seen the latest bits!!

RAWK and YNWA etc should produce monthly e-mail news letters to let the people know whats going on in each site and hopefully to stimulate a response to irregular users / visitors.

Just a thought.

Can not post anywhere else , and could not find a topic on this subject.

Do if it has been posted delete, and if it is in wrong area could you move it , ta'.

Am a local lad to the area, and think I will start to take a closer interest in how he fairs.

Hopefully he will do well and implement ideas he learnt whilst playing for reds .

He can show defenders how to lunge two footed too and make sure each leg is either side of a goal post :)

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Can you not put that in General Sport mate?

Love seeing ex reds in management, no matter what the level.  Will certainly be keeping an eye out for their results.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.
Adios Rafa, buena suerte.

Goodbye & thank you Rafa. You've given us more than we ever had a right to expect from you and you stayed loyal and fought for us even when some of our own turned on you. I truly hope that you find somewhere with the support that you deserve & win everything in sight.

Phil Babb is no longer the manager at Hayes & Yeading United.

Not sure what shape they were in when they hired him, but they were relegated last season and are struggling this.

http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/former-liverpool-defender-leaves-united-8719111

Hayes & Yeading United have parted company with manager Phil Babb.

The former Liverpool defender agreed his departure by mutual consent following last night’s 3-2 Conference South defeat to Gosport Borough.

Director of football Tristan Lewis will take charge of first team affairs while the club searches for a successor.

United are still looking for their first victory of 2015 having gone 10 games without a league win and will fall into the dropzone if fellow strugglers Farnborough win on Saturday.

Chairman Tony O’Driscoll felt the need to act now to try and avoid a repeat of last year’s relegation, which was later reprieved, but has thanked Babb for his service.

O’Driscoll: "Unfortunately, sometimes things don't work out and changes need to be made, while they can still have an impact on the bigger picture.

“It's not been an easy management baptism for Phil, with all the stuff going on in the background at the club and we wish him all the best in his future aspirations and certainly hope he won't be a stranger to the many friends he has made here.

“But, with much hard work going on behind the scenes to secure the future of this club, I think we need a change on the pitch now to ensure that all the off the field activity isn't in vain."

Hayes & Yeading are now accepting applications for the vacant post via email to vacancy@hyufc.com
