I'm not sure why Mane was taken off and Firmino was left on. Mane was one person who could skip past them and plays well with Sturridge.

No complaints really as we played a team of reserves yet we couldn't beat them. Normally a point away from home is good but not against a team as poor as Spartak were.

No real threat of not going through but this was one of the most frustrating games I've ever watched.

Probably the most frustrating game we've had all season. An absolute LITANY of chances fell our way tonight, and a combination of wastefulness and unbelievable goalkeeping as seen us not batter them by 3 or 4 clear goals.

Having said that, I'm impressed we created as many chances as we did. They parked 2 banks of 5 no more than thirty yards away from their goal, and we carved them open time and time again, and that should be applauded. What shouldn't be applauded is our wastefulness in front of goal.

Also, fuck Spartak Moscow. They're shite, and their ridiculous amount of timewasting was appalling.
