cheers mate will give that a go, does this site let you download direct from here?

cos thats the frustration with VCD you have to find the decent release then go and search torrent sites to download and end up with shite versions with the same name like i have just done (took me 2 bloody days to download as well!)

Oh and superfundo.com

that is by far the best torrent site for moveis i have found

all torrents on this site have been screened and checked for quality - only top quality released get added.

Axxo is on there and a few others (only prob is he dont seem to have been releasing much recently)

But yeah superfundo is an exceptional torrent site for movies and full series of tv stuff.

its a tracker site, different in that its in a forum format. the trackers are posted in the threads. they have more than one sweeny todd release and they seem to have a good amount of seeds.

Can't beat torrents nowadays, I just use the normal greatly improved bittorrent client and torrent spy don't have a problem getting anything at high speeds.

Don't think it will ever be possible to make them illegal either just never going to happen people are always going to be sharing files.

Without going through the whole thread, i don't know what has been mentioned so far, but I usually download music (live concerts) and the best site is probably dimeadozen http://www.dimeadozen.org/ along with Zomb http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/browse.php
and The Trader's Den  http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/index.php?

I'd also recommend Bootcity  http://www.bootcity.org/

Have only recently learnt enough to start looking at torrents and stuff and am just wandering what client people use and what they reckon are the best ones.

Azureus and uTorrent seem to be regarded as pretty decent by most on here, any others I should look at? Any help would be appreciated.

Utorrent is the easiest and most user friendly. Especially if you're new to this.

Oh, and TL have temporarily allowed for people to be invited again (limited invites, 1 for Power Users, 2 for VIP's). I've used my invite already, so please don't ask.

Yes. please could some one send me a Torrent Leech invite; you don't know how long I've been trying to get on - probably almost as long as it has existed. I'm afraid currently all the other sites I am a member of are open for registrations but I'll happily offer invites back when I can. Am having a problem playing my downloads.

I downloaded The Sarah Coner Chronicles but it isn't playing it, despite me having downloaded a codec pack. It's still saying WMP doesn't support the codec or can't read the file.

I don't think its a fake because I used bitcomet as my client then and it showed the preview which was perfect, only a minute or so but no glitches or anything like that. I've now got uTorrent as my client.

Its a .rar file.

Will I need to download videoLAN or anything like that?

Any help is gratefully received.

if its a rar file download winrar and extract the video file

if you've done this and it still wont play either get VLC Player (videolan) or if you prefer to use WMP then

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack.htm

and install all the codecs
STFU and agree with me.

Pretty new to all this, would appreciate some quick help.

Just started using uTorrent and The Pirate Bay to find things. Once I have the full download, if I start to change file names/locations (tidy up the tags and that) will uTorrent still know where the file is for uploading back to others? Or do I need to wait until my ratio is 110% (or whatever I set - what should I set?) before I touch the files?

Also, how can it be that fake stuff still has loads of people seeding? Is fake stuff (and malware) a big issue? How to avoid?

Cheers.

Normally I keep torrent downloads in a separate folder, and copy them to different folders when the torrent is finished. Changing the files will affect uploading, it'll invalidate the torrent info that describes the underlying files.

Some sites like mininova.org allow downloaders to add comments which helps verify files. Also, check the dates of when the torrent was uploaded, if it's been up for a while and has lots of downloads chances are it's OK. Finally, run anti-spyware/virus scans on the files.

Utorrent will let you change the location of the files once you move them, but you have to do it manually; it won't happen automatically. Stop the torrent after it gets to 100%, move the files to where you want them and then right click on the stopped torrent, go to Advanced and Set Download Location (or similar) and browse to the place you've moved it to. Once that's done restart the torrent and it should carry on seeding as normal (might do a 'check' first though, that's normal). Note I haven't used utorrent for ages so the exact details may vary a bit in newer versions but that's basically the gist of it. Note also that you have top be exact about browsing to the folder in which Utorrent created for that particular torrent. If it doesn't work try one level up or down.

Changing file names can be a problem (unless things have changed in newer versions) so best avoided until you've finished seeding otherwise Utorrent will tend to want to re-download the whole thing all over again

By the way what is the feeling on Utorrent these days? It's a fantastic program, beautifully put together and uses so few resources as to be a joy, compared to bloated behemoths like Azureus. But there were always security and safety worries with it back when I used it,a nd it's not open-source, so I reluctantly gave it up. Is the picture any clearer? Do a lot of you still use it?
