So if City win today, they are 3pts behind, with a superior goal difference and have to play them at home. City can go top next weekend.

However, that game may not decide the title:

City have Newcastle away (chasing CL qualification, who beat Utd 3-0) and QPR (chasing PL survival) at home. Two very difficult games.
Utd have Swansea (already safe) at home and Sunderland (already safe) away. Should be an easy six points.

At least it is in City's own hands now.

I think Sunderland will be a serious game for United. O'Neill is a stubborn little man and he'll get his players to fight for every last point. (Pretty sure he's not a big fan of United either)
