A fitting end to the match really.

We were a complete rabble for much of that game. Mistake after mistake after mistake.

Didn't deserve anything other than defeat.

That was as bad as we've been in a second half. I know there's a lot of miles in their legs but you'd think they know to manage games better. That was us beating ourselves by not taking these seriously and thinking the game was won before it was. They were playing for their moments and they got them. We were far too casual. That Gakpo decision making on the 5 on 2, Nunez playing square in 2nd half of extra time and then the Elliott/Endo mixup is just things coming from tired minds more than tired legs. Not a bad a time to get a kick in the teeth even though it's the worst place to do it. Might just bring some sanity to the bit of arrogance on show on the pitch today.

Days like this make it clear, we lack the likes of milner and Henderson to remind people of their responsibilities and keep people on their toes, we are better technically without them, but can be a bit more complacent at times

The players have put in a monumental effort over the last couple of months and that just felt like a game too far. They all looked dead on their feet and the subs didn't really pick up the slack to compensate.

School boy stuff at the end.
First Darwin hits a crazy ball across traffic to lead to their first equaliser, then 1 minute to go and we have 1 defender back and endo/Elliot get in each others way.
How was Fernandes not sent off, clearest second yellow you will see, bizarre.

But the game should have been 1-3, 1-4 in regular time, at one point we had 5 on 2 and f'd it up, we had so many opportunities and made terrible final choices.

A game too far, a lot of players had nothing left in the tank at the end. Hope they draw City.

Left that behind us. Game was there to be put to bed at 2-1 but it almost seemed to easy. Like a cat playing with a mouse. Hopefully that will kill any chance of complacency for the League game.

Same misplaced arrogance as before the Anfield match against them. They always raise their level against us. Will be a tough one in the league as well.

It should have been a walk in the park but we decided to play like it was an end of season game when everything is tied up the second half, done much of the same first half too.

They were there for the taking an we were weak as fuck. Hopefully a big wake up call for the league match.

Injuries were always going to catch up with us. We miss attention badly. But Jota is the one that we hugely missed. Difference between him and Gapko is massive.

Really bad in the final 3rd that 2nd half. They had given up and we just decided not to finish them.

Extra time we were knackered - that's fair enough but we absolutely let them off the hook.

Things will probably never change for us at that ground. Felt like it was coming at the end of both full time and extra time. I wouldnt even have fancied us on pens where we're usually so good.

Has to improve against Brighton. I feel whoever plays in attack really owe us one after that. Hoping players are back ASAP because it needs to be full strength in Europe now too.

Quansah gave a good account of himself IMO.

The substitutions were poor. Taking off Salah and Diaz for Gakpo and Clark was nuts in such a close game.
