Really liked the AFQ with the second captains. Some great yarns there. Would like to hear Ken and Eoin again with the wrappers.

Stats show we were stronger defensively when the Matip/Lovren partnership played together last season mate.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Haven't heard the podcast in question but I doubt Paul rates Matip less than Klavan or Lucas!

Given the lack of top draw centrebacks around Europe we are extremely fortunate to have him especially on a free!

Gone are the days of Adams, Stam, Cannavaro, Nesta, Blanc, Ayala, Thuram... The standard is considerably lessened now, people like Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos and Pique are considered in the top five but all of them have glaring weaknesses. So yes Matip in the grand scheme of things perhaps won't be remembered as one of the best centrebacks of all time sure, but right now given the circumstances he will certainly do for me!
I´ll say something that might surprise you. Real life is different to computer games.
I think Nadal is brilliant. One of the top 10 ever.

Forgive me if this has been gone over before but has there been any chat about Brexit the plunge in the pounds value etc ?

Listened to a load of them the last couple of days and there was a lot of repeating that 'the market seems to have gone crazy recently' without referencing it. Or maybe its had no impact if so why not ?

not surprising have you heard some of the shite our fans come out with about our own players. It works the other way as well look in the Sahko thread you would think he was the black Baresi the way some of them are going on.

You did relentlessly slaughter Can, too, to add balance...

I agree with you that Matip is over-rated by our fan base but he's clearly not absolutely shite. If he has a bad season we probably will as a side because the centre half we have behind him and Lovren is more akin to that description.
