Liverpool FC Forum / Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold
« Last post by Stan. on Today at 03:20:15 pm »
He plays half of most games in midfield. He’s being asked to do a lot of things you’d ask a CM to do, even if it’s from a starting position as an RB.

His role for Liverpool has very rarely been that of a traditional RB.

If we played Trent just as a midfielder where do you see him playing? Personally I think it’s as a 6 or part of a double pivot. I’m less convinced about him as an 8.

Yeah that’s a fair point and then there’s the argument that he’s so effective in that role because he becomes an extra man in midfield rather than just one of the three.  Personally I’d keep him in that sort of role, only because even with a new manager we’re likely to want to start Szoboszlai and Mac Allister in most games and the third midfielder is likely to need to be a more combative defensive type like Endo.

That said, if whoever comes in doesn’t want his fullbacks playing that role, my earlier point stands that if the club and/or Trent see his long term future as a midfielder, how many more years can he stay as a fullback before it’s too late to switch at the top level?  As a midfielder he strikes me more of an 8 only because he’s so effective as a creative force in the final third.  He could well be a 6 in a double pivot but would need to be the less defensive of the two and have some licence to get forward.

The Boozer / Re: Scam Fuckers
« Last post by BlackandWhitePaul on Today at 03:19:26 pm »
I seem to be getting a lot of scam emails lately including one this morning informing me I have just won a £20 free bet with BetFred and to click the link to claim it.  I never click links in unsolicited emails, ever so fuck them, deleted it straight away.

Tuchel certainly is a number 2

Way to lower the tone.

And I'm definitely not jealous you got there before me.

If Xabi's really out i don't know who'd be the best for us from the rest of the options available, what i do know is i don't want a character like Tuchel at the club.

Tuchel certainly is a number 2

Yep, a particularly smelly one at that.

The Tuchel/Zidane point is moot anyway, the club clearly wants  a young manager to take over not a stop gap for the next 2 seasons.  I dont know nearly enough about the managers to have a clear choice. My uninformed hunch is Amorin. He has Mourinho vibes though but rather him than De Zerbi or Frank.

Tuchel should fall foul of any club’s No Dickhead rule.

He’s a snide overrated little rat - Mourinho lite, and appointing him would be worse than when Hodgson somehow landed the job.

Can’t stand the fucker.

He couldn't do anything, they've changed the rules now, they couldn't then, they can now, due to the shitness mistake. Or, and I assume more than likely - they realise that if a conspiracy has been unearthed, they can de-conspiracy the situation, as its not a mistake, its conspiracy unearthed, so can change the decison and look for another opportunity to get, us.

There haven't been any rule changes Chops. As for England not being able to do anything. That isn't true. Even worse he was actually shouting down the people who wanted to tell the referee or the 4th official to delay the restart.

There was an obvious solution that Klopp alluded to. Soon after the incident, the ball went out of play for a Liverpool throw-in. Whilst the game was stopped the referee and 4th official should have been informed of the disastrous error. They could have easily explained what happened to the managers and then Diaz could have been allowed to score.

There has been a clear precedent for this when teams have been allowed to score an uncontested. England took that out of the equation by stopping the Ref and 4th official from being informed of the mistake.

For all of our domination under Klopp we've won one title under him due to the City/Pep situation. I think holding that against Arteta is similar to when people used to call Klopp a bottler due to his record in finals.

Klopp helped us achieve 90+ pts in three separate PL seasons for manager to do that and only get trophy once is pretty unique. In the two seasons we missed out a point we had arse handed to us by poor refs. I kinda accepted 18/19 but loosing the title in 21/22 was down to some really strange, some would say corrupt refereeing.

Arteta did well last year but his team fell away badly towards the end.

To have Jota and TAA on the bench for Man Utd away would be a massive boost….if that was Jota coming off the bench on a 5v2 instead of Gakpo then it’s game set and match.
Unless he passed to Trent
