I saw a picture of an England Women's player somewhere the other day.  She looked like Dean Windass in a wig.

What a surprise - are some of you really that sad that you have to go into a women's footie thread to get yer load off?  Whatever...   ::)

But for those who might actually care - yes, England are definitely in the "group of death"...but to have even gotten to the WC in the first place is a huge step.  Not finishing bottom of the group will be an even bigger step, much less getting out of the group.  Always had huge respect for Hope Powell as a player and most of these players are very talented.  But having not been to this particular stage before will be the big obstacle to overcome, especially on top of playing this tournament on the other side of the world with no one except the most dedicated at home watching due to the time difference (and general indifference from the masses, but that they're used to).

Certainly the only England side I'm rooting for over the next week!   Germany and the US still have to be the favorites regardless.  Can't be bothered with half the rubbish in this thread already but re "[Women, I assume?] Keepers are always rubbish"?  Have you watched the England men's team lately?  :butt

kick in the teeth for womens football that game. Absolutely pathetic performance. Argentina actually disgraced the game itself.

What shit

Also, that Argentine team couldve actually been mistaken for the mens team in appearance

Not a chance! Qualify maybe, beating Japan and Argentina. Germany will batter them. All the way? Don't think so.

I'll try to follow as much as possible but the early kos are a problem. Anyone have details of when highlights will be shown (any games not just england)? I only have freeview.

USA will be doing another demolishing of North Korea tomorrow.

Er..no. We all know about Lawrenson but my god come on

If she stated the obvious anymore she wouldve been going 'I am currently talking english and breathing oxygen'

We already have Richard Keys and John Motson for that, dont need more

If you have Freeview its enough to watch the games, just press the Red button. It worked on mine before for the Germany-Argentina game.

Only the England games upto the Semis will be live on BBC2, Highlights are going to be every night on BBC2 as well I think.
