As much as he sold us down the river, he wasn't a problem in the previous 7 years from 2001 onwards when he appointed two managers who won 8 trophies to be fair.

He also dithered on for YEARS about the much needed new stadium.

Arsenal just went out and built theirs.

We've been protesting against the owners for years and yet they are still here.

So you'd rather we gave up and just moaned about the present manager instead?

Maybe it needs to get worse to get the yank bastards out.

I'm just in shock. I'm not going to blame the manager and players, like us they're just victims of the festering cancer that is now Liverpool FC. You can smell the decay. I don't think we're in real danger of going down but maybe hitting rock bottom and finding our soul again might not be such a bad thing. Roy is doing his best and I don't want to see him take the fall for the two crooks at the top but it might be for the best that he does move on and let Kenny handle things until we sort ourselves out.
If you can't trust Kenny, you need to find another club, seriously.

I have to ask a few questions to those who believe that it's a good idea to get rid of Hodgson right now.

Who would possibly want to take over?
Would anyone be able to get the morale up?

We have some great players in our squad, but I don't know how well they'd take it if they lost their manager at this stage. January, maybe. Even that is an awkward time to change the manager in my opinion.

I'm no fan of Hodgson's, I never thought he was good enough. I've been hoping he could prove me wrong, but I knew from day 1 that this was a massive step backwards from Rafa Benitez. But I don't know what effect an early sacking will have on the team.

Also;
What if whoever comes in fails to sort things out? Do we sack him aswell? Do we start a cycle of replacing managers every 3-4 months?

We're in a mess.

We get rid of RH as things can't get much worse. Its now 11 games in and not a single 90mins of a decent performance.

We get rid and appoint someone that actually has some pedigree. Don't agree with Dalglish coming in, but am certain that he would get more out of the team then RH can! Pelligrini if he can still be persuaded! If there is new investment on the horizon, would help in tempting someone with a bit of pedigree!!

Im prepared to give the man time, he needs it to get his game across but that did not do himself any favours.
The players really need to look at themselves. Awful most of them apart from 5 or 6. The rest are just not good enough.

As inevitable as much of this seemed a couple of months ago, it doesn't make it any less depressing. Have to say, I am totally ambivalent now about Hodgson. And if he were sacked or he resigned tomorrow, I wouldn't feel anything either way.

Holding onto him is key, we've had a shit start to the season but to remain stable we have to think long term and that means keeping the manager, however bad things have started. This team should have started better and im still confident that our final league position will reflect the team we have. Every manager needs time, its only been 7 games. Training has changed a lot by the looks of things, that must be doing something. It only becomes a massive problem if we are still here from January onwards, which i very much doubt we will be.

Stick by him and he's bound to fix things sooner or later, frankly this club is not going to be moving forward anytime soon so we might as well give him plenty of time. Always better to get rid of a manager in the off-season rather than right in the middle of one, thats if the owners are looking to get rid of him.

Pellegrini is still without a job. I know, he'd be mad to take it, but he's doing nothing else so why not? Because as shite as we've been, we've still got a pretty good fucking squad of players to work with.

Maybe I say this because I really rate Pellegrini, but with this squad, he could take us to the Champions League places ... We are 5 points away, after all ...

The part about Roy being given more time, when he's so patently not up to the job. Would have thought that was fairly clear.

I'd actually agree with him on the players. But part of the job is getting players playing to their level. He's not doing that. Not even close.

Sacking a Manager at this stage will NOT solve a thing. It WILL make it worse.

Maybe it needs to get worse to get the yank bastards out.

We're already in the relegation zone. How can the football side of it possibly get worse? If we keep playing like this we WILL be relegated. We need someone who can bring something to the table tactically, who knows his players' best positions, who knows when to make subs and what subs to make.

Roy's time here has been a car wreck.

Okay, let me get a few points clear before I'm off..

First, when Houllier left, it was clear his time was up, the last squad he has assembled was below the average line we had for the club "you ain't going to win the league with Cheyrou, Diouf, Diao, Traoré and Biscan" and therefore it was time to leave, and so came in Rafa who with all the little resources he had to live with under both Moores and the two twats he still managed superbly, the funny thing is too many people out there are only remembering the last season under Benítez as if he didn't make it here for 6 years "which shows how much many people hated the man for all his great work!"

Second, I tried my best to give Hodgson a go, not for anything, except that he's got the seat, and it is his right to be supported by me and all other reds out there. However, it is very clear he has no clue how to handle pressure, how to handle his own players "Torres was injured within 10 minutes; has it been Rafa he would have rested Torres and got slated from everyone, even if he kept the boy away from trouble!!!!!!!!!!!", or how to handle a big club like ours. His tactics were all wrong, the side looked out of sorts, some players looked like they wanted to help "Raul, Kyrgiakos, and to some extent Gerrard", but they were not positioned correctly, they didn't feel like playing their part faithfully "apart from Carra, cause he was forced there anyways"

Third, the fact that Hodgson came in during a tough time may count to him, but in all fairness, Houllier left when it was well and truly his time to leave... Rafa was forced out. Rafa's job is not done, which explains why many of us are still attached to the Spaniard, we're looking into all bits and pieces we may get our hands on to read through the lines hoping to get a clue why this whole thing happened.

Rafa was forced out, by the two twats who didn't want him to expose them, by the two shit bags "Purslow and Broughton" who didn't want someone considerably below the line to teach them how to do things", and by the media circus who had people like alex fergushit, fat sam and fat bruce who only wished a man like Benítez can leave as soon as possible so they can rest assured that this Liverpool side will remain asleep.

I thought I'd be upset after this result, but you know what... THIS that we saw today was NOT OUR CLUB, my club makes me dream, makes me feel that anything is possible, and it's not down to its history, it was down to its spirit that lived on for years... the Spirit of Shankly that will remain inside any true Liverpool supporter and any proud man donning that Red piece from heaven.

All I'm looking forward to right now is to oversee the sale happen, the next few weeks are going to be very, VERY interesting indeed, it will make or break the rest of the history of this great club.

To the ONE AND TRUE Liverpool Club... You'll Never Walk Alone...

Well I guess this result takes away from the Protest. Probably Hicks' best scenario.

Garbage result, but for those asking for Kenny to be appointed. Is this the same knee jerk shite that saw Rafa removed? I'm sorry but I don't want Kenny to be the sacrificial lamb at the alter of baying fans. The squad isn't going to be strenthgened, so what exactly would Kenny's appointment achieve? I'm no fan of Roy Hodgson, but I believe anyone walking into that job is not going to just solve the problems on the pitch, no matter how much hand wringing might be going on.
By the way, I should tell you that I haven’t had a chance to shower while making my way up here, my balls are extra vinegary.

"Give him more time" and "Who can we bring in now" are unfortunately the only cogent arguments for keeping him at the moment. Its hard to see anything positive coming from the manager that would give you confidence in his ability to turn it around. I hope he improves, but at this point I'm not looking forward to the derby one tiny bit.

it is upto the manager to rub off on the players in every manner, including his press conferences. Saying we might lose many games that were not expected to is totally unacceptable and totally not liverpool. Its obvious that he has many selection errors in every game. you cannot blame players or owners for this. King kenny back right now, although he has been out the game for that long, the presence and spirit will be uplifting no doubt.
