Yeah, think they'll get him this summer which would be a little annoying but hey ho, we can't stop other clubs signing good players.

Rice is a funny one, he's highly rated in the press (I know that doesn't mean all that much) and I haven't watched him that closely but my immediate thought is that he's not much of an upgrade on Fred.

Either way, I do expect they'll make some big signings this summer, mainly to placate their fans who are more angry that they haven't spent enough (nonsense) rather than the state of modern football.

Good signing. Young, good amount of appearances for his age and comes from a good coaching set up. Burki has some incredible saves in his back catalogue but has always been error prone and unreliable. No surprise they’re deciding to move him on when he’s not even been able to hold onto the starting spot.

Their 2nd team would easily get top4. All goes under radar because they don't break transfer record fees, which grab headlines... heavily linked with Grealish and either Kane or Haaland.

To get them they'd need to break some transfer records.

Yeah my first thoughts, not exactly analogous are they?

McNeil is a good player though and has a bit of steel to go along with technical quality that outstrips most of his teammates. He's certainly not a driving attacking midfielder type who'll go through players with his dribbling ability like Grealish though, he's more of a wide midfielder who delivers good crosses and keeps play tidy. He prefers to play centrally apparently.

Fair enough! I'd be amazed if Grealish is still at Villa next season though, he's too good to stay there any longer.

Makes sense. Survived the season before by the skin of their teeth (not to mention an incredibly dodgy decision). They've improved drastically now, and will be looking upwards rather than downwards even with Grealish leaving.
