Northern Programme Centre

Has anyone any memories of going in here?

It was a programme shop on Walton Breck Road, on the corner before the Albert. It closed many years ago and the block itself has, of course, been raised to the ground.

They specialised in Liverpool programmes and I used to pop in most home games to buy the programme from our last away game or any home games I had missed.

I haven’t collected programmes for years although I do still have loads of old 70s and 80s home and away programmes. But I do recall fondly of going in this shop and staring at the walls. It was all part of the match going experience in the years before I started work and getting served in pubs  ;D

Spent many an afternoon in here as a kid from Anfield , literally thousands of programmes in there inc if I recall right one from the 1966 World Cup final which when I used to go there would have only been 7 years old but seemed an eternity away . My dads mate and a great red Dennis bought it many years later in the very early 90s and it became his barber shop .
