Better result than performance, not great that they were allowed to create that many chances. But another three points, by far the most important thing.

On the referee, Watford had 31 percent possession, and got 9 free kicks to our 4.

VAR needs to sort its offsides - it looks dodgy every time they draw the lines and draw them again.

They were even at it with Mo's goal (ignoring the fact there was someone lying on the fucking goalline) - if you need to draw it twice it's not clear and obvious.

2 players need to be ahead of you for onside

I was a bit worried about it until I saw replay

They just decided to make it a bit more exciting that's all.  8)

Salah backheel nutmeg. I think he's back!

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

3 points. That’s all that matters. Atrocious condition - difficult for scintillating football. Alisson, Salah, Gomez were very good. Hope Gini is fine ...

City were garbage for most of their last 15 games or so last season. Who cares? Big plus for me is the fact Salah is back amongst the goals.

Next league game is a big one - could be a defining game in many ways.

No issues with the performance after a tough midweek game and hectic schedule. Tricky windy day playing a physical side under a new manager with a solid keeper. We had a few nervy moments but we've conceded in other games and played boss.Happy now Mo is back among the goals, Bobby is the one we need to start firing though. We were a little off it but Alisson was typicaly superb when called upon.
We are a brilliant winning machine.

Any news on Gini's knock?

Technically no.......you can be level. There was one Watford player lying on the line so he was counted as one of the two players. Mo's heel did look very close to the 2nd last player but just onside.

In these cases it's hard to determine when the ball is played and then if a part of the player is offside. When it's so marginal they should let it go rather than looking for the smallest fraction. How can you say when the ball left the player's foot etc.?

Weird thing about the VAR decision was that on the first replay Mane looked like his whole head was offside. They then showed just one angle that seemed to make it look as if the Watford player's foot was playing them on, but went on to redraw the lines until he was off.

In those circumstances you'd like to think they'd give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker like how it used to be. Obviously difficult to do with VAR because you can't show people that he's offside and then give him the benefit of the doubt anyway.

Either way who cares now. Yet another 3 points, off for a little warm weather break for a week while our only potential rivals play eachother best weekend and City fans now have to justify why it's still all a fix despite a second offside by the armpit call going against us.

Watford are fucking frauds. First game they've turned up for all season because they've got a new manager. Typical.

VAR is horrific, don't care if it goes for us or against us, it's bollocks either way, but knobheads who say Livarpool, we've had more goals ruled off than the opposition have and it's not giving us blatant pens.

Salah was great but why are we letting the media/opposition intimidate us into staying on our feet, so we don't get pens we should blatantly get?

The wind ruined the game. I looked at the forecast earlier and it's up to 50 mile an hour winds. Also having to go full tilt in Salzburg when we should have done the earlier and had the kids out, didn't help energy levels either and the accumulative fatigue leads to more injuries (Lovren, Gini).

But we won. 3 great points.

I had mushy peas with my fish and chips last night and I fear that wind is ruining me.

Was ridiculous when he played on when Mo was being manhandled then didn't book the player. Hate that you have to go down to get anything from these bellend refs.

Yeah was dreading it a bit when I seen the forecast. Extreme weather does fairly naturally effect our performances.

We only looked “not in control” when he ball was bouncing around in the air in midfield. It always makes for a scrappy game and favours the ale house team.
Marriner was poor once again.
As someone posted in the half time thread, he always looks as though he is pissed off at having to leave his sunbed and referee.
Some of the grabs on Salah that went unpunished because we retained possession were a disgrace. Contrast that with the Everton fugitive  falling to the ground.
Bunch of pub players.
We managed the game well. I thought Gomez refused to allow Deeney to bully him to the extent he went and tried against VVD. Yes they had chances, but we should have been out of sight. (I think they have to change VAR offside to where the feet are.)
The overhead from Bobby to Sadio for the first was filth.
Mo’s second should have a government health warning. Something that good can’t be healthy.

Just hope it’s not too serious for Gini

Was last back (traditionally the goalie).

Odd situation for us all at first glance!
