Great win, despite playing against the extra man with the whistle . Mac Allister was sensational. I’m amazed just how good he is and how cheaply we got him for.

Posession was 55/45 to us and fouls 20/6. Tells you all you need about that c*nt of a referee.

Chalked off a tough fixture with 3 points.

Bow we get to relax and hope for a draw between the other two.

Brighton still have Man City & Arsenal at home between now and the end of April. Tough games for both clubs.
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

To be fair it was disallowed by the onfield linesman, the VAR was trying to clarify whether that initial decision was correct so we only stood to potentially benefit from the review.
Yeah, it's fair afterall. Bit of joy killer sometimes. Hahahhaha!!!!  ;D  ;D

On another note, the other striker that I really really hope would score in the game was Cody Gakpo. Truly.

But seemed we couldn't control the game but heeyyyy... Win's a win no matter what. Crucial three points there!!  8)  8)
It's there to remind our lads who they're playing for and to remind the opposition who they're playing against!

They are very difficult to play against, he sets them up well and I'm just pleased with three points.

Wtf was that yellow for Mac? Wasn't even a foul.

That set the tone, after that anything was worthy of the same.

Not going to lie to you folks my ass was totally gone, the lads had played quite well overall maybe could do better in the final third but something in my head kept saying they will nick an equaliser. Great win now we can watch them two twats hopefully foul the shit out of each other and draw.

A bit like 2-1 at Old Trafford, we just managed the game badly and it gave them a bit of encouragement.

Our main form of defence is attack, so if we're only one goal up we get nervous as the game ticks. Thought we'd have managed the game a bit more from the bench as well. Tired legs but no subs for 80 mins, albeit not the strongest bench.

We're managed by Klopp and have a bunch of players in the squad who have won lots of trophies.  I know we have a few youngsters in the team at the moment but it's not like we're a team who haven't won big trophies, there's enough experience in the team and coaching staff to see us through.

It's just that we're one of the most open teams in the league, so even a opposition in bad form will get a chance or two against us because we're not set up to kill games.
We need to show more nous in these situations.

Why are we open when we are already leading and why are we forcing it and exposing ourselves to counters?

It's easier to talk about it when we win because the same thing happened against United. We just need to play with a bit of common sense to secure results in tight games.

Lost my mind at the end of that game

Especially with Mo even though he won the game.

Mo had an absolute shocker today but still scored the winner. That's why you keep him on.

That's the only thing with all these players to come back, it tends take us a few games to shake off rustiness.

The one that VAR apparently got involved with?

Not sure if they did but the lad flopped to the floor as their arms brushed. They let countless others the same if not worse go without even a free kick. Standard PGMOL trying to restrict our game without doing anything too obvious (although the c*nts do that too at times).

Yes, but the problem is in a game like this people get tense both those at the ground and that will spread to the players as well. Added to that, its the first game back from an international break, we just need a week together to get the rhythm back in again.

It's weird because we don't often play suicidal passes in our defensive third except in the last 10 minutes of matches. Tired minds, I guess

Between David Coote being an absolute c*nt and Salah wasting a good 71 chances, that should have been way more comfortable than it was. Mac Allister was comfortably the best player on the pitch today, but shout out to Szoboszlai as well who I also thought was excellent and showing signs of his early season form.

As an audition goes, can't say I liked what I saw from this De Zerbi team. Tidy in the middle, but toothless in the final third and the constant shithousery, timewasting and diving is something I could do without.

They're not the first team to come here though and realise if they go down the ref gives them a free kick, so they just keep going down under any pressure. That's the fault of the referee.

He was clearly frustrated on the touchline in the last two games. More common sense to see out results and more ruthlessness. Very important in the business end of the season. I'd rather have the trophies than playing open football.

Now, let's watch the game.

I agree with you!  If we could actually finish just half the chances we create, then games would be a lot easier, we just need to be more clinical.  Jota can't come back quick enough.

All about the result of course, but that was a great game we played today. Still a few players down and the usual disruption caused by the International break. I loved our hunger! I absolutely loved Bradley’s game! He and Quansah were clearly targeted as part of their game plan, but they got sorted it early between and got stronger and stronger. Just boys the two of them and they are learning and giving their all every match.

Brilliant save kept Mo from getting his second, but wished Lucho’s offside goal had stood. That a scintillating move and pass from Mo to put him in. Deserved to be a goal and certainly wouldn’t have flattered us on the scoreboard. Agree with Naruto about the micro calls on the offsides these days. In every other world they’re level…

Anyway, 3 points down, hopefully City and Arsenal both lose! I believe we are winning the league this year and we just need to win games - it doesn’t matter how -  like we did today. Thrilling race this year!

Mac Allister and Diaz were the best players today. Salah’s pass for the disallowed third was sumptuous though!
