Robbed considering Gakpo's goal being incorrectly ruled out. Hopefully someone calls it out but we know what will happen.

Lots of work to do over the summer. This is the first time this system has come up against anti-football and it struggled. Fabinho and Henderson seeing too much of the ball. Poor passing all-round, poorly timed runs. We also just look a bit... slow. We used to destroy teams who dared to play a high line with Mane and Salah running in behind. Diaz, Jota, Gakpo don't have the same amount of pace and Salah's not quite the same.

We need to get our signing for RCM bang on. That's our weakest point.

What old weaknesses? Earlier in the season and we lose that. We battled well and earnt a draw. We know some work is needed so what exactly did we learn thats new.

Yes I think it was VVD but the ball was played to him by the defender. There’s no way you can say it was a deflection as the defender was 10 yards away from Diaz and so it was not a deflection.

VAR didn’t give a red card (I kinda agree with that one), didn’t give a penalty for the foul against Henderson and then somehow bends the rules to give offside against VVD. That was three decisions that went against us and all three could have gone for us especially the penalty and goal.

They were looking at the Villa player's touch to see if that reset the play. When Diaz headed the ball back, Virgil was ahead of him so offside. The ball bounces off the Villa defender, Virgil plays the ball back to Gakpo who scores.

They sent the Ref over to see if he though the Villa defender played the ball deliberately, in which case the attacking phase of play is reset and Virgil is onside.

Terrible decision, Villa defender deliberately shifted his body to stop the header back going to Gakpo.

Bloody infuriating refereeing.
Allowed Emery to employ shithouse diving and time wasting tactics all game. What really pissed me off was the ref went to the screen to rule out Gakpos effort but didn’t for the high boot or the clear foul on Henderson.
I thought he tried to let the game flow second half and didn’t give them as many stupid free kicks for throwing the selves down, but the faking of head injuries by Birdshite Young and others was sickening. Walking back onto the pitch only to hobble off like Long John Silver carried by two physios was anothe load of shite.

We were playing as if surprised that Villa held the high line. Bereft of ideas and quality passes. A lot wrong with our play. Nowhere near as wrong as the c*nt Brooks. How they scheduled him to do this match after the run-in with Jurgen is anyone's guess.

But we got one last mad moment from Flying Firmino. He's one of one, a true original. We'll miss you badly, senor.

Horrible call to rule out the Gakpo call. Konsa played it deliberately. Joke.

Final ball was mostly pretty awful though. So many easy claims for Martinez.

Full credit to Bobby and Milly though. Good tough cameos. Will miss them a lot. What a well taken goal by Bobby.

It can’t be a ricochet as the ball travels 10 yards and the defender has time to play the ball wherever he wanted.

Only reason for Ref to go to the monitor for an offside decision is because it requires a judgement call on if the defender plays thr ball deliberately. Which makes it all the weirder that he seemed to only view it from the one angle, where the defender has his back to the camera.

Also, booking players for time wasting doesnt mean shit if you arent willing to give second yellows for it.
Martinez knew he had no need to rush at the end, because another booking was never coming.
