I agree with comments about Milner starting over Elliott if Henderson doesn't make it today. 100%.

yup milner, fab, curtis

not our best but just on availability which have been the story of our season

at least our attackers are pretty much ok(lets hope there isn't any more last minute injuries during warm up)

salah, cody and diaz up front?

A win later and united will start to feel us a bit more. They have games in hand but we are just there now. Puts some pressure on them

Really important that we make a fast start to this, Brentford are no mugs and will make it tough. Hopefully the crowd will be up for it and we cut the gap to United to one point.

Bold

Lots were saying Milner should start, but I thought it'd be Elliot. Glad to have Jota and Gakpo back in.

I guess Gakpo playing the advanced mifielder role he played at Madrid. System should offer Nunez greater opportunity to show something, hope he manages it - we very much need to score first.

Seeing the bench emphasises the need to score first even more. Diaz our most physically player there, gonna have to make sure we do what we can to get the game away from being a physical battle for as long as we can

Well that's called going for it.

                   Jota

Nunez          Gakpo        Salah?

Something like that?

Or switch Nunez and Jota?

Good point. I had assumed Nunez as the 9, but looking back at Madrid away that was one of Jota's first starts and he was mostly down the middle with Nunez left.

Earlier in the season we also played a 4-4-2 against City with Jota on the left.

Gakpo playing the Henderson role?

3-2-4-1 when we have the ball...

        Konate     VVD     Robertsom

                 TAA       Fabinho

Salah       Gakpo      Jones       Jota

                      Nunez

Surely we won't change the hybrid fullback system and just play a 4231 / 442
I wanna be like Jurgen Klopp

True - I had just assumed with Gakpo being one of few positives in Madrid that they might give him a second go there.

To be fair I can't think of another club who get more praise and time for their song pre-kick off, - which no-one else does like us - but they quite often play in full and talk about how impressive it is.

Looks like an obvious 4231 from the players picked but think it might be a bit different.

Can sort of see it. Brentford don’t really hurt you in midfield, they’ll just look to sprain the front two every chance they get though.

Down to the bare bones in midfield Fab and Curtis and Trent. Milly and Hendo cant do 3 games in a week. The rest injured Tiago and Stefan. And the shirkers Ox, Naby and Melo.
I've been here during the bad times,we finished second once.

Full metal jacket! Let's give United the collywobbles and do these, lost far too many points to Brentford since they came up.

I like it, but I think Diaz on the wing and Jota as the forward is even better. I guess he isn't fit enough to start so soon again.
