My post in the pre-match thread when we played Fulham in August. Think I'm better off just not making a prediction this time around.  ;D

Silva's work at Fulham has gone a little under the radar IMO, especially with them staying comfortably mid-table all while getting absolutely nothing out of Mitrovic (one goal since the World Cup).
Haha good on you. I'd have thought similar prior to that game too, aside from thinking Silva has something about him and usually competes against Klopp better than his teams should.

But they surprised me with their energy and their sudden quality in midfield with Palinha standing out technically and physically (was humbling seeing midfielders who usually won our battles bouncing off him that day). Weird how long ago that game feels, was extremely alarming - bookending an odd season, but I hope this game isn't memorable in the same way. And this time Thiago gets his bad injury around this game, rather than during

With Thiago and Baj gone, we really can't afford to lose Fab on the yellow cards. Poor guy won't make those tackles and people will bring him up being a bus doing a U-turn on a one way.

Just win. Would open up a nice gap to Spurs and Villa (Brighton still have games in hand), which at worst should lock up top 6 and a Europa League spot. Anything else is a bonus.

Definitely at peace with finishing 5th/6th but still need to win a couple more games I would say.

Going to expect no favours from the ref so hope we can play Fulham off the park. Morale seems to be improving among the team to, keep this up until the end of season and end on some kind of high.
- all in my opinion of course -

I think the cut off date for the 10 cards leading to a 2 game ban has passed.

If Jota is out then I think Nunez has a good chance of starting this one.

He’ll start LF rather than CF though

Thanks Zlen

I feel like we owe these one after the game early doors that started our train wobbling on the tracks.  The dropped points and the suspension for, at that time, an in-form Darwin really hurt us.

Fulham are pretty good and have some talented midfielders and wide forwards.  They've done a lot better than I thought they would and credit to Marco Silva for that.  If we're on it and play on the front-foot I'm sure we'll just have too much for them.

With Thiago out for the season I guess Hendo will come in but not many other options for rotation in midfield.  Hopefully another step forward from Curtis and Harvey.

Thanks for the OP Zlen. I’d settle for a winning goal in off a beachball, 3 points is all the matters. Be nice to play like we did the first 15 mins v Spurs for a more prolonged period, but really we just need the win however it comes about.

Be a blow if Jota’s out, assume Thiago is still out, hopefully no other new injuries

Thiago is out for the rest of the run, he needs an op on his hip.
Hopefully Jones can keep up the great form, and Darwin gets a goal since he's most likely to start instead of Diaz with the game being so soon after Spurs

Thanks Zlen. I'm loving the pythonesque edge to the OP's these days. We might have been pretty crap on the field but we're nailing it on the boards !!

Anyway, to the game. They won't surprise us this time, hopefully. I'll take any kind of victory with added drama for the craic. Nunez could do with both a game and a goal. That's my bet.

I'm guessing this...

A win here and we are 3 points behind united. They have games in hand but might make them feel us there.

(As mentioned, it was corrected to 4 points).

thinking that our front 3 should be cody, nunez and salah

hope to see elliot and curtis with fab or hendo as 6

back 4 chooses it self really unless klopp wants some rotation to keep players fresh and prevent injury

lets just get the 3 points without any drama and heart attack moments

A win tonight outs us 5 ahead of Villa and Spurs with us all having 4 games left (leave Brighton out of it for now). If we finish above both we’re guaranteed top 6 and Europa League so with our superior GD to both would mean 7 points from the final 4 to be sure if it (less in. Illa’s casr if we avoid defeat against them), and Spurs certainly don’t look like winning all 4.

It’s a big game in that respect. A chance to really cement that position. Also keeps any faint top 4 hopes alive for those still dreaming of it. Not what we hoped we’d be playing for at this stage of the season, but still important to not switch off.

Don't wanna promote this sort of behaviour. But could in theory throw that Leicester away game if top 4 is gone and 5th place is more or less secure which would have consequences for the relegation battle..  ;D

Need to secure Europa at least. We need another route to the CL. However, might be a tough out next year with English teams dropping out due to their seeding. United, Newcastle, and Arsenal all bombing out would not surprise me.
