Just curious to know where we stand with them i.e what do we think of them as a club and their fans.

The reason i ask is because i remember going on a Nottinghan Forest fans forum a while back. I cant remember which one. I just googled and clicked on one of the first couple that came up. Reading down through it, i found some topics relating to Liverpool and the stuff being said was really bad. I wont repeat any of it. You have an idea yourselves. So i got the impression that they really hated us.

Now, i think i read, that during the first leg of their play off game with Swansea, some of their fans were chanting "Justice For The 96". was that true? A nice gesture if true and certainly at odds with the opinions on that message board i read.

what was the rivalry like between the teams in the 80s like? I was too young to remember. I know we played them alot in cup games etc including on that tragic day in April 1989.

Repeat after me:

We hate Nottingham Forest
We hate Everton too (they're shit!)
We hate Man United
But Liverpool we love you
I'm really hoping Sturridge busts out the wacky dip when he scores.

Don't like them and was glad they got knocked-out tonight.  Stay in the NPower Championship .... twats.

I'm probably giving my age away but it wasn't what they did in the 80's that gave me this disliking.

Fair-do's to them though if they did sing JFT96.

I've always liked them just because my uncle (well, dad's cousin, but we called him uncle) is Ian Woan. Plus all Forest fans I've met have been good eggs (as an aside - I don't really like that phrase). I guess it's a generational thing, also that they're in the Championship - I don't think anyone my age really cares about them (?).

Don't like them. Our rivalry with them in the late '70's was similar to the rivalry with Chelsea around 2005/6/7. I fucking despised them with a passion.
I'm sure some of their fans are decent but I'm happy to see them stay where they are.

Also, they love Brian Clough, who was, is and always will be a massive c*nt.

They have real nasty fans, always happy to make a snide dig at Hillsborough. Never met a nice Forest fan either in real life or in the tough guy world of the Internet. They are absolute scum. Glad they won't be coming up. Their rabble belong down there.

I read some similar stuff on their forums myself. I found it really weird if i'm honest, we haven't played them in almost 20 odd years but some of their fans really do hate us.

I’m too young to remember the European games and the rivalry around then but can remember the cup games and a few big League games from the late 80’s. I remember them being the only other team to beat us apart from Everton in the League in 87/88 and can remember them beating us on New Year’s Day not long after – think Clough scored a penalty. Never really liked them because of that.

In grown up life I used to work in Nottingham a couple of days a week and there were a lot of Forest fans there obviously. Most seem to have a big chip on their shoulder about us so I’ve never really warmed to them. In summary, I find it amusing that they keep fucking up in the Play Offs. I know they’re a decent football club and would probably give more to the Premier League than some of the clubs in there currently but I’m allowing myself to be petty on this one.

It was real hatred. They were fucking horrible, they'd come to Anfield and park the bus and play for a 0-0.

My mate still talks about a game in 1978, reckons he's never heard noise like it. He was in the Anfield Road end and everyone was in full voice just before kick-off, but then the noise from the Kop just totally drowned out the singing from the Anny Rd.
Terry Mac scored twice as we won 2-0, might have been the game where Phil Thompson ran into the Kemlyn to celebrate.

I think that sums up the majority of the origins for the ill feeling towards Forest and Nottingham in general.

Personally, I know a handful of Forest fans and they are all sound. I wasn't around pre-90's though so my own opinion of them would be wildly different as a result. I.E. I've never had a problem with them.

I was unfortunate enough to go to college with about 10-15 Forest Fans and they were all dickheads, spouting shit about Hillsborough and being really vile. Can't stand Forest. Although i worked with a sound Forest fan in my first proper job. But the majority of them are utter dicks

Al-Hasawi’s wealth has been estimated at anything between a few hundred million and £1 billion so, while we’re not going to be the ‘next Man City’, it is exciting times for the club and we eagerly await further developments.

So not mega rich, but for a lower league team not bad!

Very sick of big buisnesses coming in being a big boom to a club. It just reinforces the notion that the competition is slanted fiercely in favour of the powerful and justifies it. Can we please have wage/transfer caps please??

I can just imaging the nouveau riche Chelsea fans singing at them, "Where's your European Cups".

To which the reply is an obvious two fingered salute.
