Stupid idea. The Kop has always, ALWAYS, been at that end of the ground. Despite its various iterations over the years. Moving it completely just totally removes what it is.

Firstly we were going to move to a completely new stadium. Secondly as you’ve mentioned it’s not even the original Kop anymore..... and thirdly its the people on the Kop, their passion, the songs, the humour that makes it what it is.... not the concrete and plastic seats.
Creating an Uber Kop...... for 18,000 fans (bigger than Spurs) steep, intimidating with great acoustics would make a difference.
We can’t do anything with the existing Kop in terms of adding to the capacity because of the road, pub and now super store.
So this is an option which should be considered.

Agree with this. The Kop has an identity of its own but it shouldn't be seen as some untouchable, priceless effigy. The structure now is hardly recognisable to the one I stood on as a kid/teen so, while I appreciate what it has become for a new generation of Kopites, it should not be discounted that a move to the Anny Road end offers better opportunity for expansion. The logistics for expansion (under current rules) have been scrutinised by Pete M and others and shown not to be viable - but you never know. I certainly wouldn't rule it out.

Further to the above, I had a dream (nightmare) a while ado that we did a West Ham and switched the orientation of the pitch to have the main stand as the new kop end. Don't ask me what happened to the houses behind the Kenny. It was a dream and didn't go through the planning process.

I think the Kop should remain at the Walton Breck road end of the ground. The structure is different certainly, but the space is the same. It also wouldn’t do to have the Kop bathed in sunshine. It’s a gloomy and forbidding place forever cast in shadow.

But I can also see the attraction of a larger, single-tier ‘Kop’ at the Annie Road end. Should that happen, they should at least switch the cameras back to the Kemlyn (where they were until 1971-72) and create the illusion for TV viewers that the Kop is in the same place.

Every single person who has given info on the Anny Rd has said it's 100% not a single tier stand. It's not being moved.

Think less of size and more of dimensions.....

Anfield Road thread is closed but Peter Moore in FC Business talking of Destination Anfield.... and ARE being designed so a stage can go on it and concerts etc cos the new pitch is super tough. ... the pitch did look amazing for the Brighton game!

Inside bar - empty as it was just closing before KO. Not very exciting

I assume it's a no-thrills match day bar where it provides as much standing space as possible and as much bar space as possible to quickly serve.

More colour, memorabilia, scarves, a red floor finish, something better than that ‘brick’ bar.... a longer bar, pictures of the Kop through the years.....inside and out...... some of the scarves hung after Hillborough (flame retarded) and hung from the ceiling. Quick bar food ‘bar’
Red lighting to make it feel darker and atmospheric....
Pretty much anything that what we can see in that picture!

Fair point..... just thought they’d put a bit more thought into it....... the same could be said about the inside of the Main stand but they’ve put a lot of thought into the way it’s been decked out.

I thought the same with regards to the main stand. In particular the tunnel area.

I think the bar could possibly do with being bigger and I kind of get both views. With nobody in it, it looks abit boring but it had closed. I was only allowed in to take a quick picture. If you had 500 fans in there, decked out in clobber, chatting excitedly about the game coming up, you would have atmosphere and you would not see the floor. I guess it is for masses of people to wander in, with muddy feet and dripping from rain, and have a pint under cover... no frills and easy to maintain. My other conspiracy theory is that they kept it cheap and cheerful, can see how it goes demand wise and sales/costs etc and they can decide better what to incorporate when they rebuild the kop.....
